H22 in a G2

NO, The shaft splines are the same but the joints are not.

joints? im not sure wat u mean … like the inner housing… the one that goes into the gear box? ,… cos if it is i havent changed mine :frowning: and i put it in… cos it fit… or do u mean the the square things with bearings in them… cos for the intermediate shaft i had to reverse the head on one… and used the same internals just changed the head cos it needed to be a female one…

there is a middle shaft and then the 2 joints on each end. If you remove the joints to a bare shaft the splines on each end are the same then the tripod from the prelude shaft for the innner joint should be placed on there with a little modification ( shaving it down to fit the c clip) then the inner will be good then you need to put back the outer integra joint and you should be off. Now on my car i used a stock 88 integra shaft for the passenger side (right Side) and the other side i figured out that you should be able to use a 88 integra driver side and it should be ample length. But that is the way my motor sits i know. But how to tell if they are too long is to install them so that nut threads stick out as far as they go and you should be able to push it is so that it is flush with the hub and that will be enough travel. Hope this works for you…

i think i know what may be wrong with my car… i didnt replace the tripod and the inner shaft joint housing (round thing that goes into the gearbox) it was left as stock g2 one…is it not meant to fit? or is it slightly smaller …
… cos the strange thing is that it fit :frowning: well i thought it fit… maybe not snuggly… will spend some time to inspect it more carefully if i get time tommorow… and order a 88 shaft with the prelude spider… and prelude outer housing

ok spoke to a local drive shaft specialist… gonna get me some custom made cvs fitted for 220 thats reconditioned ones… so should be all sweet… did u do the wiring yourself tommy? cos i got a slight prob with my charging circuit… or anyone else who is reading this… the charge light stays on for a second or too after the engine is turned off.,… if i dont unplug the alternater (big green plug) then after a few hrs i get a flat battery… have i got some of the wires around the wrong way? or is there a constant 12v going there instead of a ign 12v

i believe if i remember right all you need to do is hook up 12v ignition to 2 wires together they should be a black yellow and a white blue and a red blue i think i will check my car tommorrow if you cannot get it. But for sure there should only be ignition there. The extra wire is for the ecu but you dont need to hook that one up if the wire isnt there.

ok cool… got shaft done today… they used a concerto shaft with the heads… as for the wires… cos 1 goes to dash… 1 goes to ecu and get the one from the alternator… is that correct? but yeah if u could check tommy it would be great…

If possible can you tell me exactly what you did to get this in. Parts List, parts modified, gauge bezel wiring, custom parts you had made. The specifics. I would really like to do this swap, the B16A is done to much now. I want more power. So i would really appreciate it. Could you send pics of the swap too ? My e-mail is Mpyro666@hotmail.com .
Thanks

ok i checked the wiring… and played around with it no working though… theres a white blue (goes to the charge light itself) a white blue from the alternator and a white red to ecu and white red from the alternator… i tried swapping these around and wat happens then is that the charge light is dim… when its supposed to be off… while if i put it to the original way i had it was that the light would come on for a second after i turned the motor off… am i missing something? like a diode or something… or is there a wiring not connected somewhere or something… u said to connect 2 wires to the white blue didnt work either… anyone else got any clues???

This my help you out a bit…

i was quoted from some JD Racing in NB $5000 all said and done everthing included. and i am going to try HipeMotorsport in NS and see what they charge me. i would like to do it my self but i will just help them along with it (lend a hand where it is needed).

ok so with the swap, can i keep my 92 GSR cluster or do i need the 97 prelude cluster. or do i need the 97 dash and cludter?
can someone clear this up for me please.

keep yours man… unless you want to swap it in…

I’d like to see a G4 prelude dash in a DA… that would be totally weird…

so i can make the g2 cluster work with the H22 swap?

also does anyone know the weight differance between the b and h series motors.

H22g2integra… aircare?

Timing specs

Hey guys i have a 96 gsr motor in my 91 integra and i need the timing specs for it. Iam using my old distributer and I have no fucking clue where it should be set at. this is the only thing that is keeping me from driving it and having it running great. So plz help me out guys Iam lost. :uhoh:

yes i need info from you

i d love to see how some say theres mount kit s i seen one for the 92 s but he then the wiring should plug in i have a 90 i will have a h22 by next year spraying the dog shit out of i need more on you crossmember mods i know what your saying bout the cables im may just buy a half cut from jdm place but i heer they are not easy to get specs or daigrams on it what about putting the lud hubs in the car are the axles to long i do a lot of racing
strip and street racing on slicks i destroy axles and diffs with a b18a on a
or my 60 shot :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue: :stuck_out_tongue:

I am sorry i havent been on here for a while, iwill try to help you. if you are in the process of mounting the motor all you need is the stock lude front and rear mounts and all i have done with mine is locate the motor and then notch teh front and rear crossmembers to accept the plate to hold the front mount and a notch for the rear for the diff then cutting off the 2 ears on the mount and welding it flat the putting a new set in the location it fits on the stock rear mount. i know it sounds easier that it is but i would show you some more pics but my laptop got erased some how and i dont have my car apart so i can take better pics at the momment. I hope this can be a help to get you going…
