has anyone ever tried one of these battery relocators?

i have been interested in this for a while but would like to know if anyone has any first hand with it. any insite or input (even opinions) are appreciated!

why would you want to relocate a batter closer to the engine where it will probably get hotter?

doesn’t seem like a sensible solution. a relocation to me is moving it to the trunk.

this is much easier and less involved than moving it to the trunk, where depending on what kind of battery you run is dangerous.

IMO will clean the engine bay up quite a bit. also i would imagine if anything it would be cooler down there because the air flowing underneath the car
this is much easier and less involved than moving it to the trunk, where depending on what kind of battery you run is dangerous.
you would have to use the Odyessey PC680 with this relocation kit anyways its an SLA battery.

in regards to heat… what happens when your car is parked or at a stop?

read this for a little more info.

"As noted above, all SLA batteries have one very serious drawback, they do not like heat. Even moderate temperatures by engine-bay standards, such as 100ºF to 120ºF (38ºC to 49ºC), can drastically reduce the life expectancy of the SLA battery if it is subjected to these temperatures for any length of time. It will take a while for the internal temperature of the battery to raise to engine bay temperatures…

“It might be more likely for the battery to heat up after the car is parked and the engine heat has a chance to radiate to other other parts in the engine bay.”

also in regards to what a relocation is for:
“Moving the battery out of the engine bay provides much needed space for aftermarket devices like water injection or boost control, plus it marginally decreases the front-heavy weight bias of our cars

you could put that battery in the rear and somehow bolt it to the rear strut tower. that way, it can sit behind the rear plastic and completely inconspicuous!!! i wish i would have seen that before i did my battery relocation. i used an optima red top, walmart plastic battery box, and about 12 ft of thick-ass battery cable.

good point. oh well, at first glance it seems clever. ill just put it in the trunk

those pictures of it installed . . . that’s a local car. 0 issues and has been running it in all kinds of weather.

Personally I would use that kit to mount it in the fenderwell area behind the bumper

That’s my plan.

Beat ya both to it…

Awesome man.
I planned to do the exact same thing, exactly lol.

How good is that battery you’re using? Does it crank up pretty good on cold days like umm 40 degrees? Also, how does it hold up if you have a system that consists of two amps?

It’s starts my car fine on chili mornings. Might wanna contact Odyssey cuz I dont have a system in my car… never have, never will.

Can u make thread on how u did that???

It’s pretty simple, I’m sure anyone who can relocate a battery can do as I have.

You eat chili in the morning? :stare:

Battery looks good, any issues mounting it in that location?

I dont eat chili period homie!!!

Not really.

Doesn’t it get all wet and shiet mounted there? Don’t really know but what happens if like a big ass puddle splashes right on the battery… wouldn’t it short out because water acts as a conductor between the two terminals OR are the terminals and battery completely enclosed?

i think you should be fine as long as a splash shield is in place.

on top of that its almost impossible to get a solid unbroken line of flying water to conact both terminals at the exact same time
