please dont bash me for this but i just wanted to know before i bought it.
im about to buy a set megan headers and it says the piping size is 2.25in and the exhaust im going to get says the piping is 2.5in. even though there different sizes on the inside shouldnt they fit with each other anyway?
honestly… just search your local craigslist and find another pair of headers with the 2.5 in piping.
most run about 50 bucks
thanks. so im taking that as, they should be the same size?
which headers are you getting? can you post a link?
i just got these. http://www.redlinemotive.com/part-number/megan-racing/mr-ssh-ai90.asp
THAT IS FUNNY I WAS GONNA GET THE SAME EXACT EXHAUST, BUT I THOUGHT IT WAS ONLY FOR THE TIP… SO ITS THE ENTIRE PIECES SHOWN THEN RIGHT? IM GONNA GET IT NOW THEN…
sorry realized that i had caps lock on after i typed that and im too lazy to retype it so meh…
anyway, where does it say that the header is 2.25 in diameter?
here is a picture of mine that i got today…
http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w61/dem0logik/4247e58b.jpg
the actual inside diameter of the outlet pipe is 2 inches…
that obx exhaust is a good deal for the piping, i could just put the twin loop muffler on it after i get the kit.

if either of you two buy that exhaust, please post back on the quality of the product. for 60 bucks you cant be asking for much, but if its any good at all, i might just get it to replace my rusting mid 90s Meineke special.
i asked the seller what the diameter was and he said 2.25
so anyway would the two work fit together just fine?

theyll fit fine. it might have a little bit more backpressure than a straight 2.5 all the way back, but for around 200 bucks full catback you cant beat it. if youre a mostly stock engine then you probably wont even notice.
alright so i installed my Megan Racing exhaust headers today and it was a pain in the ass to get them to fit.
http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w61/dem0logik/DSC01483.jpg
First off, the outlet pipe was like 3 inches short compared to my stock exhaust header outlet pipe. so i had to use a c-clamp to pull the exhaust towards the header in order to be able to get the bolt screwed in.
http://i173.photobucket.com/albums/w61/dem0logik/DSC01488.jpg
.5 inch gap
==[ ]===
needless to say, there is now a huge gap and the exhaust system is not sealed, i now have a leak where the two pipes connect…
so basically i need to get my exhaust extended in order to make the two connect properly.
also the header pipe does clear the cross member, but due to the bolt placement, it is very tricky to tighten the last one because there is no room to work with.

^^haha i have the same exact problem bro…save yourself the headache and maybe buy a new one? i had the exhaust shop try and seal up the leak but it still leaked after. the outlet to the cat i needed a donut gasket which they did but i changed it out all one time after that cuz i put in my high flow cat. so its pinned right where the xmember and oil pan is…i just left until recently my cat is badly battered cuz i slammed my car(go figure) so its all messed and stuff so now im getting that deleted and putting on my stock header…dont really care for power, although it was a noticeable difference with my header/hi flo cat/greddy sp2.

so i would only have this problem with a stock exhaust? if i got the obx or something else i should be fine rite?
one thing i noticed is that the headers have a 2 bolt fitting on the end and the exhaust has 3 bolt fitting where it connects to the headers. that seems like a problem, or does you think thats not the issue?
ok. this is my final decision…
im going to get these headers
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110425174133#ht_2345wt_1141
and this exhaust
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/90-91-92-93-Acura-Integra-DA6-Catback-N1-Exhaust-4_W0QQitemZ350336267729QQcmdZViewItemQQptZRace_Car_Parts?hash=item5191ab35d1#ht_2179wt_1141
but if you notice in the picture the end beginning of the exhaust has a 3 bolt design and the end of the headers have a 2 bolt design. if there any way around that? all the exhausts ive seen have the 3 bolt fitting, or is that just the default photo.
i dont want to order it, get it, and have them not fit on each other because of something stupid like that. anyone who can help it would be greatly appreciated…
I’m not sure. But is it a 3 bolt on the exhaust side if the cat?
yes sir, you are correct.
Cool, so everything should bolt right up then.
i also ordered the exhaust and a high flow cat with it, and some new rubber hanger mounts. ill report back when it arrives.
ok so the headers and exhaust came in and the problem i didnt want to have is a reality…
the exhaust is a 3 bolt and the headers are 2 bolt. i can get one of the bolts to connect the headers to the exhaust but then that leaves the other side with a gap. im just going to use a small c clamp to tighten down the other side. just so the seal between the two is “good” im using both the gaskets in between them instead of just one.
is that a good idea? and also when i was trying to connect all 3 pieces of the exhaust together, one of the pieces dont match up together. is that because those two connect to the cat?
Do you have pics? as from what i understand the two bolts on the header bolt to the cat the the cat has 3 studs that the b-pipe bolts to so im not sure what problem you are having
