so i bught a 90 gs a few months ago and wasnt really going to do anything with it ,but pull the engine and throw it into my firstgen crx well that didn’t last haha
here we go
the car it self was in rough shape and most would have just parted it ,well not me .The 1/4’s wre toast along with on rocker panel .so i hande made patches along with 1/4 patches from a dodge neon .
and lets fast forward a bit to metal work shall we
the patch again was from a 96 dodge neon front fender yup a dodge
if you would like me to post more let me know and i’ll bring you right upto where i’m at now .
and so you don’t doubt me this is my crx 1985 crxhf ,handmade panels from half the car down all sheet metal .
thats cool, cant wait and see wat it looks like after your finished. i had 2 of those CRX’s and i didnt like them because they were carbarated, and they pissed me off on cold mornings… But now thinking back to it i wish i would of kept one and put a c1 in it… o well thou… mad probs and i think this is the wrong section…
oh yeah ,right on ! yeah i’m on RPR ,not so much anymore though i need a parts car to finish the crx’s exterior and finding one in mantiba is becoming hard.
sick da
right on ! i love first gens ,there my fav honda .there is a dude on rpr doing c1 swap .should be pretty sick once complete
well i’ll start with the teggy since this is a teggy site haha
again i wasnt planing on really doing anyhting to this car .ive had it for a few months and its become a pretty large project that ive fell in love with .The da’s in my eyes are great cars and wish i wasnt selling this one once done .
there was alot of media blasting that i didn’t show (my digi cam can’t handle the dust ) gets all in the lense and isnt pretty
then i started to shave the moldings . yeah i shaved the moldings
after all the weldingont he 1/4 was grinded down i added a coat of filler and cleaned it up .
wow i have alot of pics ,whats the limit per post ? lets find out shall we
then my welder took a crap on me after owning it for not even 6 months ,so i had to throw temp insurince on the car and drive back and forth to work on it at a buddies half an hour away .
then this happened going 70kph on one of the crap tastic roads out there haha
i allmost rolled the car ,but managed to bring it back and to a hault in the middle of the road haha
so the car sat for a about a week at his place while i was working on another guys car (92 prelude rust and paint)so it was all good ,i didn’t really have time for the teggy anyways
there was a wave in my filler work i had to go back and block a bit
i started this patch and havent finished it yet .i’m doing it in 2 peices ,because it was trying to bow int he center in one peice
then i got sick of body work and figured i start painting little things
rear bumper
2nd coat of clear ,sorta shiney
and the third
then i painted the hood ,i was going to 2 tone this car since i shaved and what not ,but i was having issues with wrinkleing int he paint so i just did this
thanks there actually the front fenders from the neon there is a bit more of a flare to the rear now .not much ,but you can notice it .Sice the integra really has no flare at all back there doing anything gives her some hips haha
i forgot to mention that ive allso shaved the antenna ,spoiler holes ,emblem holes and i think thats it .
yeah pretty much shaved it all except for the fuel door .another site talked me out of it haha .
i was going to move the filler kneck intot he trunk .But it still looks clean .
ive done a bit more
i had teggy parts everywhere as you can see int he pics .so i’m now cleaning up and getting ready to spray the shell
there it all is .i moved my crx and 3g civic parts to the other room in my garage and set it all up int here for the teggy
chillin for a minute
this door is so close ,one more blocking and i think it will be good .
since your shaving the poo outta this thing I definitely think you should do the fuel door. use a flexible filler neck. Reroute behind the tail light and put the light on a hinge so it slides or swings out when ya need to fill up. Just my opinion…
Is there any reason you decided to do all that work to a car that had serious rust problems? Wouldn’t it have been alot cheaper and easier to start with a car in better condition?
