Wow, that would be a lot of work to make that patch out of 4 pieces! I’ll bet you could have made it out of one piece if you had a bead roller (that’s actually what I thought you used). You might want to think about getting one. 4 pieces seems to work okay though!
breezer …yeah they are like an inch or so wider then the DA lights ,I think if i put stock RSX lights in it might look better .I dont mind them and i think they go well with the black paint ,but i kind of think just some red ones would look better …or smoked ones .
lol i dunno we shall see if my Sis does anything about it …

thanks bud
i dont know if a bead roller would work for a patch like this ,I’m not to sure though .can you have like a curve into a bend and then another curve the other way without it not looseing the first curve ? Like with out flattening out i mean .can bead rollers stretch the steel like that ? I dont know much about bead rollers ,i was going to buy one the same time i got my welder ,but it took to long when i ordered it in and had to come back to manitoba .
hmmm i think i’m going to look into one again since it will make my life alot easier for when i do the sedan or have to make floor pans
Yes, I believe you can form a bead in a curved piece. We actually have a machine at work that does it for pre-rolled shell sections of round tanks (one sheet overlaps the other, then the seam is welded). I think it has a third roller that just acts to guide the piece through and prevent it from flattening out. Of course, that’s for a 3/16" thick piece bent on a 3-foot-plus radius.
Still, I think the stresses you introduce into the piece by forming the curve would prevent if from flattening out. I think the biggest problem would be keeping the axis of the bead parallel to the edge of the piece (i.e preventing the bead from wandering off course). I’m sure it could be done though. At the very least I’d expect one could make two pieces instead of four.
i think those lights flow well with the DA
if no one had known what it looked like with stock tails before id say theyd probably think these are the stock ones
looks like you have definetly worked hard on everything. I commend you for having to deal with all that rust. But the rsx taillights look horrible on a DA.

Ever been to Canada??? The salt from the roads in the winter here is awful, and they don’t clean it for a long time, it reeks havoc on the car, it is next to impossible to find a 18 yr old car in good shape!
I have been to Canada. I live quite close to Canada actually, and I understand the rust problems on cars. It seems to me that you could put all your efforts to making a acceptable car better, instead of a crappy car acceptable, by buying a good quality one in the first place. You just might have to look a bit harder to find it. Doing all this body work is good practice though.
