Help a Noobie out, Budget Build

am looking for a budget turbo setup for my 1991 integra , i already have a jdm b18c (jdm gsr) swap in it and it is converted to obd1, i was looking into a rev hard kit but really when it comes down to it i just dont have that kind of cash , a friend of mine around my area bought one of those ss auto chrome kits and hasnt had much problems with it besides the typical manifold cracking he got it welded again and its as good as new , most people think not to buy kits from ebay , and to stay away from them but my buddy actually gave me a little encouragement, i definatly want to do it right in the tuning area and i will be getting a plx m300 wideband and i know a guy locally that can do a street tune on uberdata (i live in small town iowa and its about all we got for tuning)
Anyways i will get down to the big question for all you readers out there can you give me some advice ? is this kit look somewhat of good qualitly i know i looks alot better than ss auto chrome , the manifold looks similar to a blox manifold , well heres the link http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=170027875757&ih=007&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

well can you help a noob out yay or nay

I will say thanks for all the help givin here in advance

there is alot of opinions on the ebay kits.

Lots of negative feedback from people who just read threads of bad experiences, If anything Id listen to the ones who actualy own the kits, there is a thread here " My SSAC experience " thats one example of how the kit has done good, also I can vouch since I bought one myself. My buddy still has it running in his 94 civic hatch on a b18c and its running strong.

Id say go for it, its a good start, replace things as you get money if your worried about things breaking over time or not being strong enough like the manifold.

Thanks for the reply man , i was just reading the ss auto chrome experience thread and got alot of feed back , i think it would be a good start and what you said about replacing parts over time is prolly what i would do , thanks for the help.

fixed the link to the kit , any more thoughts on this kit?

looks good to me, id pick it up, I had the older version of that kit and it was really good, its got everything you need.

did you have any problems or gayness that you ran into?

nothing really, some of the bolts on the manifold and the turbo kept coming loose because alot of vibration, changed the bolts and they seem to be fine now

build a kit nig nog
homemadeturbo.com
so you dont actually blow it up on the first pull due to not learning shit

explain your self about not learning shit , i will be installing this my self with a guy that is going to be observing all my moves to make sure i do things right ,

How does not knowing anything about a turbo or a turbo build got anything to due with more chance to " blow it up on the first time you punch it ? " if the god damn turbo is going to blow up its going to blow up whether its a mechanic who punches it or an average driver.

people are funny with their theorys, hear some say " study turbo’s for about 1-2 monthes first then buy a kit or install one " especially if you pay a shop to put a kit together and install it for you, that would be of no help at all.

Ignore the haters.

RacingPoverty said it.
hmt pwns.

^^ yeah but when it is your first kit, and you dont want to wait forever for things to be accumulated ,major fitment issues etc, i think it would be better just to buy a kit and then as you go buy better components for it .

if you buy a kit buy a greddy kit. they are great.

On the topic but sort of off topic…

How much do you think people would pay if you told them every budget part to get and where to pick it up for the cheapest dollar from the most reputable sellers?

I mean, for the most part…you get what you pay for, but for sub $2000 I could tell you every part to get, where to get it and how much it is going to cost you for all new parts…parts that will last and that have good warranty. Parts that include proper fuel management and will net you more HP per PSI of boost than any Drag, Greddy or Turbonetics kit out there…

Hrm, I wonder…

Looks like Xenocron Turbo kit’s are on the way…

Nah, I dont want to make kits (thought about it)…but isnt there some value in keeping people away from either cheap/crap parts or racing parts that are WAY overkill to their goals…
