I currently have these parts already, and need to know if it’s safe to build. I have no money and can’t buy anything else but what I already have.
B16 head with B18C5 valve springs and retainers, Ferarra Valves.
B18A1 Block, PR4 Rods, PR73 A0 USDM .040 overbore pistons. arp rod bolts.
This nets me from 11:1-12:1 compression ratio.
I already have a turbo kit, and dsm 550 injectors, I have a 91 which means they’ll fit right in. Is it safe to turbo this motor?
I also have skunk2 valve springs and ti retainers, and Jun 3 cams. Would there be any advantage in switching the springs from my 10k B18C5 springs for an engine that will only be revving to maybe 8500. Also would Jun 3 cams be good for a turbo, or will I make plenty of power with Jun 3 cams without a turbo, or should I turbo and ditch the cams.
right now I’m back to just a stock LS motor but it’s summer, and no one will buy my parts for a good price so I figured I’d use them.
.040 over thats 82mm right ? well that leaves no sleeve left for the stock block boost will only crack a sleeve .maybe 6-8 psi on a small turbo will last.
or u can put in some oe cams and a thicker head gasket.we did it on my friends type r high compression boost=fun.but like they said the big ass bore will not allow u to run alot of boost.id say keep it round 325 wheel ull be fine.
