^^off topic but tegboi can u get me an oilpan for my b17??? hhaha lmk man i need one asap…like tommorow

one of my friends that i knew had several pans a while ago, doesnt have any more, cause he gave em all away…

sorry man

tegboi, I know you are probably waiting on a response from me regarding the Supercharger. The kit is in my friends garage and I don’t usually see him during the week. I want to take a few pics of it so that you can see what you are working with.
It seems that they original owner modified the mounting brackets by elongating some of the bolt holes. You’ll just need to see for yourself. The kits it’s self is in very good condition though.
I’ll tell you whats strange though, I have all the local DC guys sweating me for it. Does it fit in the DC chassis with out any modifications? I know on H-T, under the “only type -r” section, there are a few of them running chargers. I’ve not researched it though.

majority the vortech kits for hondas were designed for the EK & DC chassis

also, take a picture of the shaft / splines where the turbine shaft goes into the long drive line to the pulley. there are 2 versions of the splines, and the one with many many small teeth is the worst of the two.

Sorry to bring this back up but I’ve been busy at work and had very little time in between.
Here are the pics I promised however, I want to state that the kit has been passed on to a friend who plan on using it thanks to tegboi’s comment regarding the EK/DC chassis. He owns a gutted out 96 DC with AC and PW.

and more…

that’s it for now…
i guess these pics can be used for reference.

im drooling right now. iv wanted a v5 vortech system since i bought my first da

that thing looks too modified for my taste…

mounting hardware looks to be all flexed, holes all badly slotted out, and i see some random screw being super super long, using 10+ washers to space it back?

how is the shaft that goes from the rod, to the actual blower? is there play if you held the fins with one hand, and tried to rotate the pulley on the other end?

if it had play u should warn the next person using it, and letting them know that it’s possible it can strip very soon…

omg im pissed i sold my ls supercharger cause i didnt think it was that easy damn

tegboi, the kit it’s self is in decent condition. There is very little play via the turbine blades/shaft. All in all, it was just a random buy at the local hang out…you know how it goes, some guy pops his trunk and states, I’m selling this!

i dont know if you want to tell the guy u sold it to, but a little bit of shaft play is what i had before aswell, and that turned quickly into completely stripping the inside of the rod.

haha, costco parking lot, pops the trunk, nos kit, $100 bucks, no questions type of deal eh?

id just weld up those holes and redrill so they look proper. (wouldnt suggest this 2 any1 with little welding experience)

tegboi, I’ll let you know how it works out with the kit.
it’s a close friend of mine that the kit was passed on to…sorta like in the family as he calls it. If it fails on him, he will/would understand that it’s all part of the game.
I could of sold it for 1500 to someone else, but he insisted that it remains “in the family”.
"haha, costco parking lot, pops the trunk, nos kit, $100 bucks, no questions type of deal eh? "
Exactly, except it was a KMART parking lot. lolz.

The Supercharger kit is back up for sale. I received a phone call this morning with consent, I think he changed his mind and is going turbo instead.
I’ll place an ad in the For Sale section, I just wanted to give you guys 1st dibs.

then take picture of the shaft for me

tegboi, I’ll take it apart sometime during this week and take the pictures that you’ve requested.
Regarding the play, I was speaking of the normal/minimal back and forth play that one usually finds on a new turbo.

Pics as requested.

There is absolutely no play in the shaft mechanism! I doubled checked tonight.
Here you go…

.

Normal/Minimal play, like a brand new turbo (this is the play I was talking about, see pic below)

does it have a carb # ?
