hey i want to supercharge my da.

i searched found 1 article about it, not much covered i know a guy did it on here tegboi i believe and someone else. How can this be done, anyone know what kit you have to order and for what year car. What you have to do to make it work, and overall costs. I want a supercharger love the whining noise and i heard its more reliable then a turbo. can anyone please help im quite serious on doing this.

anyone want to give me info to talk to b17 vortech is he still a member i want this bad

what kind of blower did you want to install? i would suggest a jrsc for a gsr… gives you an excuse to swap to a ls/v or straight gsr

I don’t know much about the b series superchargers, but if the jrsc uses the m62 eaton blower, then you can use the jrsc manifold for a lysholm twin screw supercharger and make some serious power especially with an aftercooler. All i can tell you is with k-series, the potential is there on a stock k20a2/z1/z3 to put out 400whp+ and 300tq+. Lots of potential, but it’s costly.

JRSC dont work with a DA unless extensive/custom modification is made to the master cylinder & lines to give more room for the pulleys.

the vortech supercharger kit really depends on your engine. VTEC/Non-VTEC the brackets that bolt onto the engine block/head are different for different engines i believe. but, the one i had, one of the first generation vortech kits, was told was for an ITR, but had slotted holes for mounting, and i was able to run it on my B16.

which i guess takes up the gap between oil pan to valve cover differences between 1.6 to 1.8L

the upper bracket bolts onto the 3 bolts where the power steering pump bolts onto, and there’s remounting holes for them aswell.

i suggest buying new, just because the newer versions have an upgraded spline setup, beefier & less prone to stripping. and you will have some type of real warranty as long as parts are concerned… i replaced my bearings on mine (might as well at the time, cause i wouldnt be able to do it again), and had to weld the shaft onto the blower because the old spline setup stripped out

but in order to make it work, i created all new piping, and a custom top mount intercooler. i believe B17Vortech was able to make the procooler? or the intercooler made available with the kit. he made it work with his setup. i’ll see what i can dig, i remember speaking to him back when i was still doing this setup. what’s your email so i can help you out if i can?

other than that, it was a great and awesome setup, and i really really do miss it. i would definitely buy a new kit if i could afford it

go vortech 2 much of a headache with the JRSC setup. if you want to get a RHD integra front clip and convert your car it will be easy as the brake petal and mastercylinder are on teh RHS

there was a RHD xsi forsale in toronto not 2 long ago. sell your car and get that and supercharge it will end up being cheaper

haha

“its supercharged!”

“you have no brakes…”

“but it’s supercharged!”

stupid LHD das lmao

sell ur charger kits cheap to aussies were u have plentiful rhd ones

lol manual brakes on a supercharged Da = parachute to slow down…better hope no1’s tailgating

There is a guy in San Francisco who fabricated a push pull lever system to raise my master brake cylinder. Been running it for over 2 years now in my 90 DA with a jrsc on a jdm b18c motor. No problems. If you want, I can give you his shop number and you can talk to him about it.

damn that sucks coulda has some breaks. got any pics of the setup… if i knew of this more than a year ago. im a fitter/welder i coulda fab’d up the same system. but my jrsc race kit is long gone into a typer swapped civic hatch

1sikda, do you have the supercharger setup already?
If not, I have a Vortech one for sale complete with all the brackets and water cooler.

how much? email - tegboi@hotmail.com

Here are some pics of the setup. Things were so crowded in there, it is hard to see how it was made, so I made a quick sketch.

im kinda mad now. didnt think it would be this easy. i coulda kept my kit

I saw someone post an idea before about making an adapter plate that fits between the manifold and the supercharger. Probably only need to be 1/4" thick to work.

I’m guna hit you up later…

awww do we miss our boost? LOL!

yes we do… :bawl:

lol. your lazy ass better do a writeup this time seriously.
