higher compression?

so say i wanna go turbo. i redo all the internals on my ls (forged rods/pisrons) would a 10:1 compression work if i was to only run say… 6-7 psi? cuz at the moment im looking into a turbo set-up but cant really afford internals and a turbo kit all at once  . i wanna do the internals and let them break in while i save up for the turbo. this way i can have a car with a little more power to build upon.

Depends. I dont know much about turbos but I do know that 6-7 psi is different for every sized turbo. 7 psi on a t3 would be like 10 on a t25. And The higher the comp you have the less ammount of boost you have to run in order to get the sam affect. Say 2 ppl with B18’s put a T3 on. One guy had 10:1 cp and the other had 8:1, the guy with 10:1 would only need (all random numbers here) 6 psi to hit 200hp and the guy with 8:1 would need 10. Its alot more to turbos than thought.

You can DEFINITELY boost a 10:1 motor AS LONG AS IT’S PROPERLY TUNED. Especially 6-8lbs on a small-medium size turbo…no worries. But have it tuned no matter what. Make sure that shit is safe

just like mahatma said any compressions safe as long as you tune it, and as a matter of fact a buddy of mine is building a B16 turbo with CTR pistons and a T28 looking for around 8-10psi of boost  shits gunna be SICK
