Honda Parts list for B17A1

I am making a list of all the random incidental stuff I’m going to be replacing while rebuilding my B17A1. I need this for myself to make sure I’m not waiting a week to start the car because I forgot some stupid little o-ring. I figured it is good information to have, so I am putting it up here as well. I am grouping this by section as listed on acuraautomotiveparts.org , hondaautomotiveparts.com and hondapartsunlimited.com , etc. Each section will have its own post.

I’m comparing everything to Del Sol Parts as well (Honda parts are cheaper) so if it is also a del sol VTEC part (only if the same exact part number) it will be bolded. Some stuff (like the breather tubes) look like they are the same shape but the Integra one will have a little insulated pad and the Del Sol one won’t. Many of these parts are included in gasket sets but I thought it better to list them individually.

Note: you won’t find the fun go-fast stuff in here

EDIT: I won’t actually be replacing ALL of these parts, these are just what I would consider to be replacement parts.

EDIT: I realized that having these all in different posts is just stupid. That is why there is now a bunch of blank posts that say “Delete This Post”.

EDIT: Total is around $1381 (not including $50 spark plugs) for all gaskets, bearings, washers, almost all vacuum and coolant hoses and a few misc. bolts here and there.
Obviously it is a little overkill and wasteful, frankly, to do all of this just ‘because’. Things like the TB gasket, for instance, don’t need to be replaced unless you remove that part. Same goes for several other things on the IM. Also, way down under all of the “Delete This Posts” is a post from Unified suggesting a breather chamber removal kit.

Most everything looks like it is correct… buying genuine parts is a bitch simply due to cost, but most of the time it’s definitely worth it.

As far as bearings, you could get away with running ACLs Race Series, or Calico teflon-coated bearings… they’re made by the same company as OEM Honda bearings, just with a teflon coating. If they’re the same price - or cheaper; id run them… I like my Calicos.

On that list, did you put down $50 for spark plugs!!! Id stick with an OEM set of plug-wires for sure… but if the plugs themselves are gonna run you $50, there’s somethin wrong. Go to AutoZone/NAPA etc and get yourself a set of NGK BKR7E, or NGK 4644s. My tuner recomends them for all NA and Turbod Hondas, up to 550whp. I think they’re less than $4/each.

Did you ever look into a breather-chamber removal kit? When you think about it, the breather chamber tube is gonna shove gasses and other crap into your freshly built and tuned motor… granted, the tuner can take the extra gasses into consideration when tuning… but I dislike the idea of putting that ca-ca into a nice motor. Perhaps a catch-can running from your valve cover is an idea? Just thought i’d throw that out there.

unified:

Yeah, $50 for plugs is OUTRAGEOUS!! especially when you can get identical NGKs from autozone.

As far as bearings go, it seems as if ACL race are out of stock everywhere (including Calico). But it will be a little bit before the block is actually out and at the machine shop so I will try to find them when the time actually comes.

A lot of this stuff I actually already bought. Timing belt, water pump, wires, cap, rotor, etc. (All the regular maintenance stuff) and some of it I’m not going to mess with (like non-rubber gaskets that don’t need to be replaced unless you are taking that part off – like the intake temp sensor gasket or TB gasket for instance). And some things I’ll put off like rebuilding the power steering pump. This particular pump doesn’t leak a ton (yet) so I’ll put off ordering the parts to rebuild it until later.

Mainly I’m doing this so I don’t have to look it up and see if there is an equivalent honda part everytime I need to buy stuff. I also figured it could be a place to point people who are trying to build up their engine “on a budget”. I think looking at these totals, it becomes very clear very fast that all the ‘incidental’ stuff adds up in a big hurry.

EDIT: I will look into the Breather Chamber removal kit. Thanks for the suggestion!

I’ll be using a type R intake manifold, so here are some corrections if using an ITR manifold. A little off topic from Stock parts for the G2, but I think it is still useful.
(assume ITR part. As before, if it is bold, it is also listed for the Del Sol VTEC and you can save a few $ because stuff from Honda is cheaper even though the part numbers are the same).
I didn’t “search” all parts, just looked it up on the corresponding Del Sol page, so some stuff not in bold may be available from Honda.

Breather Chamber:
11855-P30-000 TUBE A, PCV
11856-P30-000 TUBE B, PCV
17130-PM6-G01 VALVE ASSY., PCV
17135-P73-010 PIPE, BREATHER (I’ll be using the ITR intake tube as well)

Intake Manifold:
17105-P73-A01 GASKET, IN. MANIFOLD (NIPPON LEAKLESS)
37880-PE2-013 SENSOR ASSY., AIR TEMPERATURE

Throttle Body:
16075-P07-000 O-RING (9.8X1.9) (this is the map sensor o-ring)
16411-P73-000 STAY, THROTTLE WIRE (my IM didn’t come with one)
36455-PT3-A01 GASKET, ELECTRONIC AIR CONTROLVALVE (DENSO)
16176-P73-004 GASKET, THROTTLE BODY (NIPPON LEAKLESS)

Water Hose:
NEED #4 from ITR Picture. Out of stock? Del Sol Part Follows:
19506-P75-000 HOSE, ELECTRONIC AIR CONTROL VALVE IN.
19507-P73-000 HOSE, ELECTRONIC AIR CONTROL VALVE OUTLET
19508-P08-000 HOSE, BYPASS OUTLET
19527-P73-000 HOSE A, BREATHER HEATER
19528-P73-010 HOSE B, BREATHER HEATER

Water Pump:
(can’t find for Del Sol, but is Honda Part)
37760-P00-003 SWITCH ASSY., THERMO (A-93) (NIPPON THERMOSTAT)
(both following are to “delete” FITV water circuit)
19315-P30-J01 COVER, WATER OUTLET
19320-P30-J00 CASE, THERMOSTAT

Other stuff I didn’t mention last time. Not really “replacement” parts necessarily, but I’ll probably replace all of it since everything else will be new anyway.

All GS-R unless otherwise specified.

Pedal:
(This is from the GS-R, don’t know if ITR stuff is better fit?)
17910-SK7-A03 WIRE, THROTTLE
17921-SA4-730 SEAL, THROTTLE CABLE

Cylinder Block - Oil Pan:
15650-P30-000 GAUGE, OIL LEVEL

Engine Sub Cord - Clamp:
37750-PH2-014 THERMO UNIT (DENSO)
37870-PJ7-003 SENSOR ASSY., WATER TEMPERATURE (TW5) (MATSUSHITA)
37240-PT0-023 SWITCH, OIL PRESSURE (DENSO)
30530-PV1-A01 SENSOR ASSY., KNOCK

All I can say is that Honda is gonna love you when you walk in with a part number list with ~50 parts on it.

Yeah, well those lists do encompass every wear component in and attached to the engine. For $1500 or so, I don’t think its too bad. Plus there is the peace of mind that I’m not going to have a hose or sensor go out 5k miles after my fresh build. And, you know, the most important part which is that everything will be all shiny and clean.

I’m certainly not going to walk in to my local Honda dealer. I refuse to do business with those fuckers. Most of their parts are almost twice what “list” price is from the online places. I’ll probably get my Honda parts from Majestic Honda as they have treated me right in the past and then the Acura parts I’ll either get from the vendor on here or from AcuraAutomotiveParts.org

I’m totally just busting your balls bro… you bring very good points up. Not only will it look very clean, you have the confidence in all the sensors and stuff being new and not failing.

I know that if I had the dough to do that in my build, I would have… but apparently I’m not ballin like you :stuck_out_tongue:
