I know this has been covered before, but I tried searching and couldn’t find an old thread. Can anyone give me a how-to on the hood tilt? Here is a pic of what I am talking about… OG members teg…
get in a fender bender if you want your hood to look like that.
i dont know why people want to do this…but here is how its done…you need to get some washers to prop up the hood hinge.
Mine is like that, cuz someone ran it into a pole in a parking lot years ago…everyone who sees my car notices it and asks me if it has been in a wreck, so why you would want to do this…i dont know.
See if you can get one of your freinds to hit you or somthing, that’ll do it.
It’s to suck air out of the engine bay and keep things cool. But yeah, washers should do the trick.

a rice mod has no purpose. This may not do all that much, but at least it does something useful!
It’s only NOT a rice mod if you NEED to do it because your underhood temps are too high. If they aren’t then it’s definitely :gotrice:
Its obvious nobody here has done this.
First, yes you may need a couple washers, but mostly you need LONGER BOLTS, and SPACERS.
Just take 1 of your bolts out of your hood, go down to Home Depot(or wherever has a nice nut/bolt selection), to the HARDWARE section. They have an assortment of Metrics/ AND standard, depending on what your hood may have threaded. Then next to the bolts are Teflon spacers which are different sizes. Just find what best suits your needs, and you’re set.

Or your CF hood rattles on your strut tower bar when cold, and/or your wipers bump on your hood on the down motion.
Scott, I noticed your hood the other day… I was actually a little surprised, I figured you’d want it down :shrug: But the strut bar/wiper thing makes sense Oh, and thanks for the parts!! (and as always I got home and already had a list of stuff I still needed, lol).

hey Colin, Since nobody has seen it, Honestly, should I bring it down a little, all the way, or leave it… I don’t like the fact that leaves blown in there…but the other reasons have been workin great for me.
Personally i like the hood down flush like stock… but I can definitely see where tilting it would help flow. But I leave stuff like that for track cars, not dailies. But to clear your parts… I’d probably leave it where it is. If you lower it too much it might just look like its all messed up. But with it up as high as it is its pretty obvious that its intentional.
If it were me, I’d probably change strut bars and try to adjust the wipers. But I’m not sure what bar you have and if you’re set on running that exact one or not. But thats just me :shrug:
i did the trick to mine … not a good idea to me to lift it up that much cuz its puttin mad stress on the thing that releses the hood (i cant think of the name of that now) but yea it looks sick with mine i can put my finger in it and all…

i think it does a little cuz the latch is like this stock (__) now that ive done the washer trick its like this (/)
maybe i’ll do that to my VIS hood to help hide the fact it fits like OJ’s gloves.
