Learning to love your integra.
What caused you to first fall in love with the G2s? Example, when you first drove one. Your first car or even comparing it to others that you’ve driven. Why the G2.

I like the way the dash/radio/climate-controls all ‘face’ the driver.
I like the auto-seatbelts.
I like the design of the door-cards compared to EK/EG/DCs.
I like that it is more uncommon than most other Honda models.
I like that, for its age, it came faily well equipped.
I like that the stock seats hug nicely whereas EK and DC seats seem more wide.
^^ Pretty much. Their just a ton of fun to drive, even in their stock form. I love the body lines, and its not too boxy for its age. The interior is spacious, even the back seats have good leg room. The DAs are getting more uncommon each and everyday, especially the ones in good condition. The fact that theres so many accessories like the armrest, optional lip kit, under seat tray etc. makes me love it a bit more. I would love a more luxurious car but when I get into a DA, I dont feel the need to have all those extra gadgets. I’ve had 3 so far and I was taken by the first one. My brother had a 91 RS when I was about 12 years old and I didnt really care for cars but as I got older, I just completely fell in love with them hoping I’d find the right one. My DA is more than just a car to me, its like the thing has feelings ! Rant …
It was cheap to keep on the road, easy to work on and looks decent when in good condition… Nothing more, It was love when i had mine because I just loved my ONE integra. Now it’s gone and I realized that it wasn’t all that great after all.
so true…
When I was about 8 years old my uncle bought one brand new. Instantly told him, “that’s going to be mine” Not sure why, especially since at 8 I was helping my dad restore his 73’ Cuda’. So after 10 years of “so, when you going to give me that car?” he finally caved and hooked me up for my 18th birthday. He bought an RSX and said it wasn’t as good, sold that pretty quick for a CR-V. So technically the one I fell in love with is the one sitting in my garage.
I wanted one ever since i saw phaze2’s white DB2!!! i couldnt find the rolling pic from honda tuning, which is the one that got me hooked!!!
I had love for it after I sold my db2…during that time I had my ups and downs with the db2 and there was nothing really wrong with it. I didn’t feel the body style that time cause I was more into the civic hatchbacks that time…when I sold it and left Kansas to come back to california and bought me a ef and something wasn’t right…less than a year later I wanted that DA feeling again so I traded my cleanest ef for a pos da integra…but I enjoyed it for a min and sold it…another year later I picked up my current daily driver and now I’m hooked…92 gs…what I love about is the feeling inside…I like it better than the ek, dc, eg…but I like the ef too…in a way it has a similar feeling to the da but not the seats since I had a STD/DX version. Oops did I say STD. Haha jk…sounds funny right…that’s what I thought when I first heard about that model and I didn’t know it meant for standard…and I would feel a little embarrassed when asking for parts at the auto store…but yeah…the DA I just feel it…
How’d I fall in love with my DA? Simple, It was an Acura for $4000 back in 01, it had low miles, it was black and it was the first car I bought from a dealership. Oh and the first car I didn’t have to drag out of some black berry bushes or bring back from the dead. So for me, my DA was more of a status symbol. I was finally making a decent pay check and had good enough credit to walk on a lot and drive out with the car I wanted.
Now a days, It just feels good to have a 20yr old car that still looks good because I’ve kept her that way.
This is a good thread, I’d long forgotten how good I felt waking up the first morning looking out to the drive way and seeing my teg sitting there.
I love the front end and the more aggressive body lines than the 94-01 integras. Before I bought my first DA in 2009 I was looking for a 240sx with a silvia front end rather than the pop up headlights and then saw some DA’s with jdm one peices and thought it looked sexy so since then, have been driving one and loving it.
my first da i got when i was 14, man talk about a rust bucket, but she had potential, i was 14 and had a car, not alot of kids have cars at 14 lol, i LOVE the way her ass looks when shes slammed, i love the front end, from the lines on the hood, to the headlights, to the bumper lights, i LOVE the get up and go, an LS kick(bone stock) in a da just is wayyy different than any other car i think, interior is the shit, everything from the cluster to the seat i sit on, i love da’s, ive had over 14 sense i was 14, and im 19 now, and finally am settling down with a DB2 GSR lifes great, ill always have a DA/DB till i get old and can pass it on to my kids one day!
Quoted for the truth of myself as well except, I was 16 when I first got my DA for $500 and I am 19 now with my third DA and loving every bit of the current one I have. Horizon gray for the win !
I fell in love with the DA because they look good, they are super reliable, cheap to maintain, easy to fix. I also think they were just as modern as cars that were 15 years newer. Another thing that I loved was the standard 4 wheel disc brakes and the badass stock suspension. They do not have much body roll and are super crisp around the corners.
I remember I was 14 and my cousin was one year older than me with his permit back in the early 90’s. My first time in a G2 was down in Land O lakes Florida, my cousins first car, I thought it was pretty racy looking. We were crusing out of his subdivision and he threw it in 2nd and bang’d 2nd and 3rd gear, we were doing 80mph in no time flat. I never new hondas were that quick, ever since I knew i had to have one. I bought my first G2 in high school and drove it for 9 years before i wrecked it, I owned a ford expedition (mostly for work) afterwards and it just wasn’t doing it for me. I’m on my 2nd G2 which i purchased this year. I know I’ll be driving a honda when I’m a senior citizen and they finally take my liscense.:salute:
it was 9th grade and my best freind down block had black ls special edition from that day on i always wanted one im on my 4th da currently driving db7 and gonna sell this and get me another da… and just put k in it.
It was when I was a freshman in High School (16 years ago) when I went to visit my mom at work and saw that her coworker had a G2. It was then that the G2 caught my eye. Also, it was when I picked up the Super Street Magazine with Marc Fata’s yellow GSR on the cover which I still have to this day. Those are the 2 factors that brought me to liking the G2. It has been my favorite car still to this day to own and drive.
i cant forget about the seatbelts as well, its like the DB is giving you a welcome hug when you get in her, i love it :)))
I actually fell in love it accidently. Back in 99, I was going to purchase a black 95 civic coupe for $9,000. Went to the dealership and it sold so i strolled through the used sales lot at toyota. Saw a white car, with what it looked like some type of ground effects. Turns out it was a integra with a oem ground effects. Didn’t even know acura was made by honda during that time. Took it out for a spin and i was in love. It drove better than the civic. So i purchased it for 3400 bucks and drove it home. I regret ever selling it to my buddy. I never saw it again after he sold it. I have not seen any other integras in the whole state of MN with the oem ground effects.
went for a test drive with my older brother in a used 4 door and was amazed by it… fast forward a couple years later he gave it to me when i got my license and i’ve had it since with no plans on letting it go. its been 5 years going on 6
I know that I am old now for sure. Way back in 1991, I was in line waiting to get in at the Armory(a club in Los Angeles). I was still in high school and was looking out in the street dreaming of a 90 EF Civic hatch that I had seen the previous week at the Silmar street races. It was dropped on some SSR Super Fins and I soo wanted to make that the first car I purchased. Then, as I was day dreaming, a DA had pulled up at the stop light right where I was looking on the street. The bitch was slammed sittin’ on some Gales. Everyone in line was in aw and jockin’ the Teg. I went home that night confused on which of the two cars I wanted now seeing that Teg. What a brain f#$K…
Later in life I ended up owning both model vehicles, but the 2nd gen Teg ended up winning the battle for my heart.
