guy wit 4 dr range and black where r u from in ontario i think ive seen yur ride.
Just happen to be my first ride (db1) and fell inlove with them.
Before my DA i had a eg coupe, ek hatch, and i wanted to try something new. My boy had a red 93 gsr. I decided to get one too. Since then, i fell in love with da’s. They’re HARDCORE!!
i came across one with a blown motor for $500 and decided to make it a project. its definately been a blast working on it and seeing it change over time. i wouldnt want any other project to work on since ive gotten my da. im up to about $11k in it. and its definately worth every penny. best project car IMO.
for me it started because i was cheap. I had a 2003 ram 1500 fully loaded and a 2004 SRT-10 number 11 of 3057 made. On top of those DD’s i had a 79 F-150 lifted and a 750 hp monster big block. Always loved trucks, still do. I worked at a junk yard. My buddy had a foxbody stang and a 91 LS with a lot of work done to it, he got it from a local import shop and it was their shop car. He clew the tranny in the stang, then blew the tranny in the teg. He told me “Get me a trans for the stang ill give you the teg.” i thought about it for a few days, looked on the shelf at work, there was a t-5 for his stang and a YS1 gsr trans for the teg. boss said give him $500 for both. So i did it towed the teg home and put the tranny in. drove the car for a month or so and a jackass ran a stopsign and i couldnt stop and hit him hard on the right front. a week later the tranny case blew from the axle pressure on it. back then i didnt know what i had, and AFTER i sold the swap oput of it i found out the truth. the engine was a LS-V built for boost. everything done bottom end, head, all of it. kicked myself in the ass. i found this out 3 DAYS after i bought my current DA. now i have the 92 LS and probably gonna sell it this week. 3 people went for rides and fell in love and all WANT the car bad. I have had it for 4 years now almsot 5 and i want something differant. Im looking for a 92-93 GS-R in white, but havent found anything yet. i might end up looking for a REALLY clean bodied white LS from 92-93 if i cant find a GS-R. i guess ill just make one. i have the seats, decklid, fender moldings, cluster, center console, and a b17 block in the shop and 3 YS1 trannies 2 gs-r’s and one ls. havent decided just what im doing yet but i know im going to build a new monster and ill always own a DA, it was my first import love and always will be
im 20 years old now, but ever since i can remember when i was young my dad always bought some type of car magazine, i would look though them and it the back of the ads i always saw body kits for cars the g2 always caught my eye. first car was a 87 silverado (muscle car fam) after some upgrades. it waisted too much gas for me. i never really got to drive it legally because my dad got it for me wen i was 13. we fixed it up. then later i sold it. got a 94 dc from a friend. wanted somthing diff. then i bought a riced out turbo g2. then dericed it. and its been unconditional love ever since. now i have a 92 gsr.
people alwasys say get a newer car or whatever. like a civic or somthing, but i just say. why?
my car has ac ps power window power locks sun roof. i can drive it anywere id like, and still smash on cars on the way there.
love the body lines, the aggresive stance from the front. everything,
for me…it started when my cousin first bought his 91 300zx tt…we drove his brothers DA to go pick up his z…on the way back i drove the DA and instantly fell in love with it…drivability, the fun factor, the fact that my cousin said that a DA fits me…after that day…i was hooked…searched craigslist everyday…came across mine for 1,200…130,XXX,original owner, non smoker, and a full tank of gas!..i love my DA…her name is Isyss
i fell in love with my g2 two years when a guy had one parked in the front of my school. lowered and with 1pcs. i instantly fell in love with the stance of the car and how the carjust looks overall! after that day i would try to find one till i found my ls and ever since then its been love
I was 17 in 2001 and had my heart set on a 92-93 Civic hatchback. I’m shopping for a used car and I found a 1993 Acura Integra. I’m young so I don’t know much about Acura. I realize this car is fully loaded and had a really solid feel to it. I bought the car and every time I would walk out to the car to get in and drive- I felt giddy and proud. I knew I had something special.
9 years later and I’m still in love with the g2!
BTW: willbad’s post: ‘oh, can’t forget the fact that its has the “coupe” look but its a hatchback - love that’ — agreed!
I met my girlfreind when i was 19, and i drove a 98 neon with the hahn race craft turbo kit, thing was really quick, for a neon, i loved that car so much, then she took me to her house, opened the garage and there it was, an aztec green pearl gsr. My jaw dropped, she looked at me and said “what? you like that thing? its my dads rusty piece of crap” I simply replied, “your dad is the shit!” Ever since i laid eyes on it i wanted it. well the neon blew up and i got a 89 crx with a buitl zc in it. it was pretty quick but i lost my liecenc and sold it to get a exploder, then about 2 and half years down the road her dad put it up for sale and i remember being so pissed i couldn’t aford to buy it. Well i saved my nickles and dimes for about six months and it still hadn’t sold, he was asking 2500 for it, well i walked up to him one day with 15 100 dollar bills and said its mine. he agreed. Ive been in love with that car for 5 years now. and ive only owned it for 2, lol.
I guess back then you get influenced when you were younger and you see your buddy’s older brother owned it or better yet THIEVES driving them daily and beating the shiet out of them made me realize the potential of the car.
Honestly, I was so in love with the cars sleek look then that up til the year i got my DA for $1000 when he listed at $2400. Got there and dude just dropped the price to 1k lmao with 203k miles no leak clean title. own it for 5 yrs now.
just rebuild motor and on 9k miles now. old motor had 356k i think…
my db1 was my first car. I’m 20 now & was too young to buy it & actually just registered it in my name last month, although i paid for the car & have driven the car the last 3 years. my friends were all into fast cars. weather import or domestic & loved to race. my db1 was a gateway from life itself…cruising hot summer days, or cool summer nights. i actually wrote an essay about it in college. if i can find it, i will upload it.
my parents acutally played a big roll in my love for the DA, my dad is a body man so we were lookin for a wrecked car that we could fix for very cheap…one day he tell told me he found me and integra and that were going to look at it. I didnt really know shit about honda at the time i just startin to get into it.
we show up to look at it and what was it!! AZTEC GREEN GSR!!! it was hit in the front and actually worse than what we could fix (motor mount problems) from the impact) so we let it go :(. I was so pissed i love that thing but ended up gettin a crx instead.
Well about 2 years later i was in the car with my mom in the market for a new car by now when we pass this little hole in the ground half ass car lot and my mom says and i quote “there is a cute little red car”. I recongnized what it was immediately and told her to turn around… I went and looked at this beautiful milano red RS 1991 rs integra, 177,000 miles on the clock with of course issues but i had to have it, i drove it off the lot about a week later. it now has alot 220,000 on the chassis is now on its 3rd motor, shes my baby
i actually hold the rep for the cleanest da in Fort wayne and take great pride in that. here is how she sits today
It was my turn to purchase my new dealership car. The choices were to wait til February 1992 to release for the then, brand new designed black 92 Civic SI, a maroon 91 Nissan 240sx, or a last production 91 (milano-red<—fucking rare!!!)" CRX SI. Across the street was an Acura dealer and my bro and pops convinced me to take a look at the DA’s although my heart was set for the CRX. My folks convinced me to get a DA due to the power steering and AC that was standard on the DA (funny is that those accessories are gone off my car now). Plus i was sold on the DOHC motor…
Man, what a great time to be in the market for a new car. I wish I was a little bit older. So many great choices back then. I think my head would have exploded trying to come up with a choice if I’d have been in the market though. That 92 Si was my dream car when it came out. It took over the #1 spot from the CRX that had dominated my dreams before then. One of my best friends had a 91 Si(hatch) and I loved that car too. I didn’t really know too much about DAs during that time because nobody that I knew had one. The first one that really caught my attention was Tony Fuchs’ at one of the first BOTIs in Palmdale. That car was awesome! What I wouldn’t give to go back in a time machine and buy up every model Honda/Acura in 91/92. :cloud9:

(I don’t know if I posted this, but.)
I fell in love with G2s when I saw 3 cars for sale. One was a 3rd Gen which I’m not to happy about, and the other was a 1st Gen “Rover” 5-door Hatchback. Both just looked odd, until I set eyes on what was soon to be my DD. A 1990 Acura Integra GS DB1 with some imperfections as, hanging tailpipe, mismatched tires (I can hear them grind on the well), ABS not working, E-brakes not working, and a faulty alternator for $500. Since then, I started to save up to restore my only DD, until then, you can catch me in a 1997 Honda Accord SE.
got my first d.a. when I was 17 first car and a broke ass highschool kid… did not have any $ to do anything to it sold it a year later to pay for post secondary. I’ve had an ej1/dc/ef8crx/em2/eg/aw11 and a s14 … but I still missed the da so I decided to pick one up again and now I got my career started and I’m doing fairly well I can finally do my dream D.a. build… I love d.a.'s and their boxy appearance
i was on the hunt for a car for my ex girl about 7 years ago and came across a clean 90 integra so she bought it and drove it for about a year while in that time i also drove it alot and jus fell in love with it so i bought it from her and still have it to this day now building it from the ground up. love the DA
hey you want to sell me one of those trans im in jersey
about 10 years ago. I was looking for my first “real” car. one that didn’t break down on me every day and that i had to take a loan out for. I saw this body style driving around town and figured out what years they were.
Funny but when i was first looking for one to purchase after seeing them around town i always thought they were coupes, not hatchbacks. I looked forever for a coupe one bought thought they were just hard to find.
