i have searched but cant find my answer. How much will my stock block hold with eagle h-beam rods, forged pistons, a balanced crank and a blockguard? Should i get oversized pistons for more torque or will that weaken my block too much?
Thanks
you should search, but i feel generous tonight, plus i saw this yesterday and found it interesting http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1478127 that is on stock blocks and that means stock everything, and this one http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=892257 is stock block, most with aftermarket pistons and rods. Personally, through research not expierience of course, it doesnt look like a block guard is all that necessary
I would prolly stick around 15-16 psi myself but I’ve been criticized for being conservative.
Make sure you have a GREAT tune on it.
nad hows about a compression check before you do any fo that to make sure your valve seals and all is good before you start subjecting your car to any amounts of boost!
Helpful hint
Thanks for the replys but what do you all think about getting oversized pistons? Like maybe 81.5mm. Thanks again.
im running 12psi on stock block an runs great but my boy got almost the same stuff done to his and is running 17psi.
i was running 12 psi (right about 260whp) for a while on my totally stock ls. right now im running 81.5 lsvtec with pistons and rods, making a solid 40-50 hp more than the ls. no problems. with the pistons and rods and a good tuen you can run 400+ whp, its being done by numerous people as we speak, but im personally gonna look to run mine at about 350-375
