I would much, much rather have a drag gen 3 turbo than a jackson racing supercharger, vortech, or greddy turbo.
If I were to get a drag gen 3, is there any way too possibly get passed emissions with taking the kit off?
And I heard of somethings else… have the bov exhaust into the intake pipe, and the wastegate have a pipe around the turbo to release the wastegate exhaust into the exhaust pipe. because you cant have anything that releases gas into the atmosphere.
There’s no way a Turbo Honda/Acura will pass smog unless you get an CARB approved Greddy or HKS system (I think the HKS ones are CARB anyway). I don’t know what kind of smog laws you have in AZ, but just popping the hood with a DRAG kit is enough to fail you here in CA.
The Greddy kit comes with TD05H-18G turbo. This is bigger than the TD05-16G that a lot of DSM guys are using and even bigger than the “BIG”-16G that’s stock in the Lancer Evo3.
To answer your question, yes, the turbo will be able to supply enough flow for 250 wheel HP, whether your car will is another story.
This kit comes with 330cc injectors, most DSM guys with 16G’s run 550’s and bigger fuel pumps so you’ll have to modify this kit. It does not have a BOV - important if you plan on running enough boost to make 250whp.
Also, this kit isn’t legal for anything but the 96-99 GSRs.
In Cali, with a Gen2 Teg, your not gonna pass the visual unless like Haber said, you have the tech hook you up. Just save your stock header and intake and bolt it all back on every 2 years. No reason in a weekend you shouldn’t be able to swap the kit off/on for legality reasons.
I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I’m going to have to get a smog check this summer and I haven’t decided if I’m going to pay someone or take the turbo out. If I can find a friendly tech down here in San Diego I’ll pay.
dave… i’m near SDSU. i’ve been to the qualcomm drags only a few times. when do they start back up again? or are they already going now? i used to check www.sdstreetracing.com all the time, but i don’t like some of the content on their message boards. it’s gotten away from the cars and it’s more about attitudes, opinions, flaming, and so forth. i check the it only every now and then.

I THINK the 18’gs on the greddy kits have a smaller hot side then the ones commonly found on DSMs. I have a ported/clipped 18g on my DSM and its good for 400hp. somehow i dont think the greddy kits are rated that high.
gotenks im from cali and i have a gen2 that i just put through smog and passed with flying colors. ( its been sitting for the last 8 months while i was in Japan) any how im a Marine stationed in Yuma and i know Az has no emission laws like cali. so dont worrie about that.
on a side note. did you go to the last integra meet in Phoenix? it was like 2 weeks ago. o well lots of team-integra people and some g2ic’rs. you should go to the next one. i missed this one i got stuck in gila bend… *sigh.
Good luck with your teg. PS you want to put the drag3 in your car. what motor do you have. i thought that the b18a/b could only have the drag2… or did you get a motor swap or a head change (ls/vtec)
you got stuck in gila bend? there’s nothing in gila bend… what could you have gotten stuck? just kidding… i’ve just rolled through there a few times and it’s a cool little desert “oasis.”
Are you ABSOLUTELY positive that there are no emissions…
I remember I was with my dad and his accord, and we went to this little brown building… and these guys popped the hood, rammed something up the exhaust pipe and revved the engine.
I can’t remember it that well, but that was probably a smog station. There was a long azzz line of cars too.
You think smog stuff could be different in different cities maybe?
Actually, I have several friends (muscle car friends that only have a hate for my love for imports) That have their old v8’s that they can barely get past emissions test.
I don’t have the integra yet, I’m getting it in a few weeks. I’ve just been looking around, and planning.

Check www.racelegal.com for up coming events at qualcomm. ive had the pleasure of seeing haberdashers teg race there. dave what times did u run by the way??oh and for not getting a turbo'd honda car smogged in cali is false, imperial county doesnt have smogging requirements like populated areas in cali like diego. owning property in other counties is benificial.:D
i just got in the area and dont know any one out side my job. Any one want to help me hook my integra up? i had my emission test done already. And am ready do start doing some damage.
