I got a 2.5 bar map sensor from xenocron and I’m looking for different ways to mount it. Unless I missed it, it doesn’t look like he sells DIY cases for it anymore. I’d like to enclose the sensor rather than just leave it out in the open, but can’t really think of any effective ways of doing it without it looking too ghetto. Any suggestions?
isn’t that the one you’re supposed to install in the stock map sensor casing??
Does the map sensor casing come apart? I have one and I don’t see how it can come apart.
I got this one here :
No, that is not the one that goes in the stock map sensor casing. that would be the motorola 3 bar map sensor. I had this motorola 2.5 bar map sensor before. this thing is small and very fragile. I would say to zip tie this to a non moveable part, preferably on the firewall, and tape the harness near the sensor. to keep the parts from losing connection. this connector does not lock into place, so that is my reasoning why I left this setup and moved on to a GM 3 bar. very tempermental when your car shuts off on the freeway.
Thanks for the heads up. I’m looking to find one of those little aspirin tins to stick this in. Poke a hole for the nipple to stick out and another for the pigtail. Fill it up with silicone, shove the sensor in and shut lid on it. Still ghetto, but if I mount it in a discreet location, it should be okay.
