i have a full turbo kit for sale for 2g’s. All brand new and good parts, no ebay crap. aim- cfperformance
stock rod and piston ls/vtec wont have over 10:1 compression even with a shitty tune it is going to be hard to blow it up.
look at it like this. You have 2 grand to spend and it seems obvious that you want power. Take that 2 grand and turbo the b18a1. You outcome will look something like this. Take the 2 grand and get this:
-ls-vtec and make like 160-170whp
or
-b18a turbo on 10psi putting down 240-260whp
not really much to weigh…0
and who ever said ls is better than vtec is very well intitled to his or her opinion. but we all know that a gsr would everyday out run an ls with the same mods. same with b16a’s
sponsored1, do you have pics of turbo kit?

Under the integra pictures there are pics of it, The manifold is the Erl Stainless tubular manifold and the downpipe is a 3" custom stainless. Turbo is a t3/t4, .57/.63. I can get some more pics of the intercooler, piping, ect but it will have to wait until the end of the week.
Sound good, I’ll wait.
sponsored1: What is the IC size? Was it hard to fit under the 90-91 bumper??
Thanks!
Ill have to get the intercooler specs at the end of the week, I sold the kit to my friend who never used it and is now selling it again. And yes it fit under my 90 bumper when i mocked it up, and looked pretty good too. But youll have to cut a bunch, mainly the center part and you have to trim some of the stuff inside the bumper.
i got the best idea in this thread yet. show up at my house with 2g cash and in a few hours you will have a fairly quick car. lol
ls vtec in no way is as reliable as a turbo setup.
LS vtec you put a different head on it that is not made for the b18a. Turbo all you do is bolt up a different exhuast, and you are not in boost all of the time.
Do some research. You in know way have enough knowledge to do either of these setups.d
compton… it doesnt matter what percentage of your time you are running at crazy high compressions. its the fact that when you are they are way more than any n/a motor would ever see.
it has nothing to do with compression. a pr3 head was not made for a b18a block. it will never be as reliable as the LS.
it will never be as reliable as a ls, but boosting it your not making a ls reliable either.
its not as simple as your bolting up a turbo, you are modifying the whole application itself… ls’s never came turbo from the factory, just as a ls never came vtec from the factory.
fact of the matter is if you want your car 100% reliable you never modify it. everything you do affects the life of your engine, but if you are looking for forced induction then you are obviously aware of the problems that can come with it.
so you are telling me an external oil line makes a motor less reliable? thats an interesting opinion. the ls block is identical to a gsr block with the exception of the vtec oil passage, and dowel locations. have you ever seen a single STOCK internal ls/vtec blow up?
