Alright so here’s my 93 integra LS . I have an AEM intake cold air system , headers, test pipe ,exhaust, apc spark plug wires. What else should i shoot for to make it run better? I need help my fellow g2ic members. My third gear has been grinding lately but it still runs good. i wanna save money and buy a b16 tranny and a brand new clutch. But besides the transmission what else should i get. need help.
There’s not much you can do motor wise as its stock. Id start saving up for the transmission instead of blowing it on pointless upgrades when the trans needs to be fixed/replaced.
Yes you’re right on that too. I’m thinking about getting a b16 cable tranny. I’m looking for another ys1 tranny too but they’re pretty rare to find now days too.
My goals well Lets see. Well i clocked 15.4 sec at the 1/4 track with street tires. I’m aiming for
14’s at least. I’m a daily driver only so can’t really ask for more yet. Should i maybe go fuel injectors and fuel rail?
You need to start reading before posting a pointless thread like this. You’re motor is stock, unless you ad turbo and rebuild the motor and do a good tune, you will not make that number.
the best i’ve seen on a stock b18a1 is 15.1 or something like that… This car was gutted though and i think he ran with no hood?
No point getting a fuelrail and injectors unless you’ve got big cams or a turbo. Save up your money and do a proper build. You can either build up your b18a1 nonvtec or you can have a motor on the side and start on that.
thats a good lookin car. if it was me personally, i would fix that transmission then piece together a small boost turbo setup. my buddy did that in a 94 4 door civic with a d15b and had very little money in it and ran right with another friend that had an eg hatch with a $5000 type r swap. the LS motor tranny is very boost friendly and if you ran about 8 pounds with a good tune it should be very reliable. btw im very surprised youre able to beat a gsr in an LS with bolt ons.
Ha, that’s what I was thinking because I just noticed the asterisked statement above the picture. I’ve owned a GSR. They have a lot more get up than a DA. My DA would barely keep up with my buddies single slammer civic hatch.
Anywho, I’d save up your money for a turbo kit. Motor swaps are nice, but turbo is more fun because there always room to upgrade later.
THANKS for your advice . You’re right about rebuilding the motor. I just don’t wanna spend all that money on rebuilding when i can just swap it out. BTW i don’t really think this thread is pointless. I really want good tips .

Yeah, i’ve seen some b18a1 hitting 15.1 and 15.2 at the track too. I’m thinking about just rebuilding my tranny and fix the third gear. But i wouldn’t mind building up an LS also because everyone has the same swaps. I kinda wanna go something different. But well see thanks.
I pointed out this thread being pointless because the lack of knowledge you have showed by asking us what to buy next. There is so much info on this site not including the net that you can read about builds and what people are running. Not to be rude but if the transmission go’s,whats the point on more Bolton? And the remark about taking a GSR motor was (IMO) a little to confident in a 20 year old motor that “stock” has about 123/125whp as the GSR has 153/160whp depending if its JDM or USDM.
You know it depends on how bad his third gear is my third gear will grind on high rpm when i switch gears. An has been that way well sence it was in the black da. yea his bolt on might be able to keep up with a gsr. If I recall my stock gsr ran 15.4/15.2 in the 1/4 mile then i did work an did 14.2 mind you this was back in 1996 so yea it could be done my ls goes you shoud know kyle. An another point is it all about the driver maybe the op can drive who knows an I dont see any thing wrong with him asking what next that what the forms are for so dont knock people for asking
Yes i’ve beat a couple of GSR with boltons the GSR’s were stock though. I’m not being confident but hey what more can you say people underestimate LS. Yes i know that their are many info on this site about rebuilding motors. Probably from your point of view its pointless but for me i still think its helpful.
Don’t trip about it man. I’ve made lots of threads that makes this one look good…lol
I’m not hating on you at all,the net can be misleading at times so sorry if I’ve offended you anyway. Courtney, what up with you always having something smart to say every time i reply to a thread? I never known you when you had a GSR nor did i no you had one. And i don
t know how fast you’re car is cause i never tried to see. I know a LS has a better take off because of the torque, but the GSR will always be on top unless the LS is built. Now a newer LS will stay with the GSR in a quoter mile but like you said, its all in the driver so your right on that.
