If i were to buy a new teg...

Just wondering if i were to buy a new (technically used) teg, and planned on forced induction in the future, which is better to go with a gs, or a gs-r…

Any reasons you have feel free to detail.

Non-vtec engines are easier to tune w/a turbo than vtec engines. So I guess it depends on how much experience you have and if you have access to a dyno/tuner.

why is a tubo hard to tune with vtec, i know that it shifts to a different grind when vtec hits to boost top end power and all, but how does that effect how a turbo works?

It’s not how a turbo works… the turbo will work the same eitherway. A non-VTEC engine has a lower CR which means that it’s more boost friendly. VTEC engines have a higher CR which means it’s more sensative to the boost. It shouldn’t matter either way, both engines can be monsters if proper tuning is involved.

HTH

The reason some people think that LS engines are better for turbo than VTEC engines is because VTEC engines have valve overlap. This means that the exhaust vavles are still a little open when the intake valves start to open. If you’re boosting you can loose some PSI in the cyclinder because of this. Its not that hard to fix with some cam gears on stock cams. Its when you start using aftermarkt cams with longer durations that it becomes an issue.
