Hello everyone! I bought myself my first DA. It’s a '93, not sure of the trim model, but it has a sunroof and power everything, also it’s a DA9 if that says anything… I’m happy to have one, I’ve always loved the look of the 2nd Gen, especially over the 3rd for some reason. It’s not in too bad of shape, no serious rust that I can find and the seals still look pretty good, much better than a lot of newer cars I see. It’s Horizon Gray Metallic.
I currently have it in the paint booth getting the body straight and ready for paint while I look for parts. The engine bay was previously gutted and painted gloss black, so I’ll also be buying lots of parts to fill that gap. My plans are for a relatively stock car, with a b20. I don’t want to slam it, but getting rid of the wheel gap and improving it’s handling are a goal.
Anyways, if there’s anything you can tell me, or sell me(for cheap ) I’d appreciate it. I was told the DA normally has many leaks, such as the cowl. I haven’t had it in the weather much since I bought it myself, it did get some water in the tail light sitting on the trailer in the rain. The seal where it bolts to the body was half way missing, I’m hoping that was the only reason, they’re in pretty good shape.
My list of needed parts at the moment. (I will also post in the WTB section)
Power mirrors
Driver door prop
B20 block and head (the only other motor I might consider is the b17)
Ls intake manifold/TB
Header (not sure what I want atm)
Alternator, p/s pump, and brackets
Shift linkage (not the stabilizer arm)
Driver fender
Inner fender and the rest of the under plastics
A cheap extra cluster for a later mod
Wheels and tires
I simply said, DA9 means its a USDM/North American Integra, as opposed to a DA6 (Japanese) spec Integra… I didn’t say anything about what trim level it is
Horizon grey DA’s are typically a LS trim (luxury sport) which featured all power options except power door lock. Also did not include abs. Anyways good luck with your build. You can find that there are good people on here who can help you out.
I’ve got two sets of power mirrors I need to get rid of (as well as some other items). You can scroll thru photos here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/clen/8260099904/ If you’re interested in anything feel free to shoot me an email (which is available thru my profile on this site) and make an offer. Also, please include your zip code so I could check shipping prices.
Sweet! Let me know if you decide to, I haven’t had much time to work on it, so I haven’t looked at the driver fender that much, but I think I would be much better off getting a different one.
Here’s a question, can you tell if the car has abs by orange plugs on the harness? Like I said I haven’t taken a real close look to notice if it had abs.
Jdm tech is where I picked up my b20. You won’t be able to use the ac compressor, alternator, distributor or power steering pump off of it.
$6xx for the p8r head b20 comes with papers. Lately central florida law enforcement have been popping hoods and checking vins. They will impound your car if you don’t have papers or the motor you have in your car so that comes in handy.
Like I said I’ve got the alternator for it. Also have a set of bumper lights if you need those as well.
I was under the impression I could use basically any A/C or PS if I had certain brackets. I’ll let you know though because I’ll definitely take it, but I’ve got a lot of things to take care of before the DA
The power steering pump that comes on the b20 has bigger inlet/outlet diameter and they are on opposite sides. None of the jdm tech motors come with ac compressors (or atleast that I saw).
