imcnblu's build thread (2012 UPDATES page 26)

Well, ordered a few new goodies tonight

Ordered the DOHC VTEC rear window decal, as I’ve always liked them. It’s a nice subtle thing that most people wouldn’t even notice.
I also picked up a JDM DC2 Type-R oil cap to go along with the soon to be wrinkle red valve cover. To finish it off, I sent my buddy Matt some $$ for a carbon fiber plug wire cover.

A few nice goodies to add on to the aesthetic portion of this year’s build phase.

EDIT

btw, this morning on my way to my class for work, I rolled 220,000 miles on the odometer. A nice little milestone.

Got some new goodies today
Carbon Fiber plug wire cover came in today. Thanks, Matt.
I also received my DOHC VTEC decal and the DC2 ITR Oil Cap. Both, from ICB Motorsports. I’m telling you all right now, if you’ve never dealt with ICB, you haven’t dealt with a quality company. This place keeps getting better and better every time I place an order with them.

I’ve almost ALWAYS gotten emails within an hour or two saying my item was shipped. Well, this time, they really outdid themselves. Not sure how I managed this one, but I got the confirmation email 4 MINUTES later saying my item had shipped. Checked the tracking number about an hour later, and it was already on it’s way…

Hands down, the BEST company to deal with. In my opinion, they have no competition.

Pics or you didnt really get them

Sill curious about how the paint is holding up on the motor too!

Okay, pics as requested.

still in their lovely OEM Honda packaging. I love those clear with white/red baggies.

The paint on the engine is holding up great. It still looks as fresh as can be.

Good to hear!! I start assembling my ls/v this weekend, been waiting for the head to come back from the machine shop! You’re giving me serious motivation haha

  • Brandon

Glad to be a source of motivation for you. Good luck with it.

Ordered some of this. Ordered 2 cans to have more than enough.

I have decided to go with the Subaru STI gold color for my FN01R-C wheels. I’m thinking of running some 5mm spacers on the wheels as well, but will I need extended studs?

Anyone have a first gen Mugen Shift knob for sale?

I’d prefer black or blue if you have it.
this is the style I’m talking about:

If I can avoid it, I’d like to not buy brand new. But, if it has to be, then so be it.

Edit. I’m in the market to buy a new short ram intake pipe to replace my current setup. Here is what I’m using at the moment:

Keep in mind, I’m no longer using the stock GS-R intake manifold. I’m now using a Skunk2 Intake manifold (conventional throttle body placement)

I’m wanting to buy an intake like this, made for a DC2 (to compliment my relocated battery) This is strictly for aesthetic purposes, not for performance, obviously.

So it would have an overall look, like this:

My question is, though, does anyone know if this type of intake will fit on a DA that still has ABS? I currently still have ABS, and deleting it isn’t an option at the time being. If anyone on here has used an intake like this with ABS, let me know. If it’ll fit, it’s too cheap to pass up. If it won’t fit, then I’ll just move along to greener pastures

Im not sure what intakes would fit but if your interested. I have my Blue aem cai that im thinking about putting up for sale if your interested?!

I saw where your intake is for sale, lol. Anyway, I’ll pass on that one. Curious, though, if anyone has used an intake arm like that in their DAs with ABS, and if there were any fitment issues. I’ve looked through all the engine bay threads I could find on most of the main forums, and couldn’t find any pics. But, a lot of the threads had posts dating back to 04, so half of the threads or more, are without pics.

Ive used the single bend 3" SRI intake in my DA with ABS and it had no issues. Throw in a BPI Velocity stack too!

Velocity Stack, I has it

Btw, any pics?

Just picked it back up from the paint shop, today

A little teaser:

I LOVE the look of the side skirts. The paint is nice in person. Looks good in pictures, but it looks a million times better in person.

JDP lip going on this week, as well as finishing up my wheels.
A little teaser of the wheels in their new color:

some new pics
Here is a good look at the car with brand new paint all over, and the gorgeous side skirts installed. For the East Coast Honda Meet, the car will be about an inch lower, with my more appropriate wheels as shown below. Also, the JDP OE2 lip is going on really soon, too. Can’t wait to get that beautiful thing on there.

Testing out the center caps:

I don’t think I like the Captiva Blue Pearl center caps anymore, being that there is nothing else on the wheel that is blue anymore. I’m thinking of painting the blue sections black, now. Would have a more universal appearance. Opinions?

ninja edit:
anyone want a set of OEM GS-R cams (B18C)? $80 shipped, and they’re yours. They have less than 25,000 miles on them. Practically new.

JDP Engineering OE2 lip INSTALLED!

pics later today

sorry for the delay.

here goes

freshly installed, hadn’t even left my living room yet:

side view, look at how well the skirts and lip compliment each other:

here we go:

got my valve cover all stripped down:

going to get painted wrinkle red to match the ITR

testing out center newly painted center caps:

i WAS going to go with my old color scheme center caps (the same color setup I had when the wheels were silver and blue) but, I didn’t like the way they looked with the gold. thumbs down, imo

looking good buddy, shits gonna be a show stoper at that east coast meet:up:

Honestly I liked the blue center caps, they kinda tied it all together…

As far as the lip… skeet skeet skeet! I want!

looks best without center caps…or if ur gunna run them the black needs to be satin or flat… they look to shinny for rims.
