valve cover done.

Was going for that OEM JDM ITR look. I believe I have pulled it off

How did you cover up the letters while painting?

I didn’t. I just took a big chunk of the day sanding, sanding, sanding, and more sanding, til it came out perfect. I started at 180g, working my way up to 1500g. Wetsanding started at 600g. Then I finished it off with a nice metal polish I have.

Restored my JDM 1pcs today  Came out pretty damn good, if I must say so, myself.

before:

Notice the chipping clear coat and the oxidation going on on the bare spots.

after:

phone pic doesn’t do it justice, but it’s as clear as glass.

THAT’S BETTER!

looks like shit ;)

Thanks for inspiring me to restore my ugly healights lol.

love you, too :stuck_out_tongue:

Glad to inspire. It does wonders to the appeal of the car

Wetsanding and polishing the headlights is one of the easiest and most visually appealing things you can do, bravo on a job well done sir.

good job on the headlight restoration but, what did u use to seal the headlights? Clear RTV? i highly suggest rubber butyl, it’ll look and seal 100x better.

wheels on

car is a little dirty. Going to get a good hand wash and wax Friday, as well as a full form interior detail cleaning. Going to have this thing looking top tier for the East Coast Honda Meet this weekend.

Looks great… I like those taillights with that color…

yes…winning. gave my car a good wash and wax this past weekend, i’m going to hit the interior w/ a little love on teh dash and what not and it’ll be good enough.

superb. you coming up to the ECHM this weekend?

yea, as long as everything stays consistent as it has lately…i’ll either be up there thursday night or friday midday

hey just wondering, after you installed the Side Skirt. Your can no longer have the front mud guards correct?

Not without heavily modifying them. Doesn’t bother me, as mine have been off since 08.

i really dont like the mudflaps either. Looknig good Jake. Wish i could have seen this at the ECHM but maybe next year? Or perhaps we can get a little mini meet together sometime between this ECHM and the next one.

I’m down. We’ll make something happen in late summer or early fall, so its not ignorantly hot.

you not going stitch?

WoW, ride is coming along like it came out of honda tuning mag ! my only question to you is how in the world did you get that paint to wrinkle like that ? God knows how many times I’ve tried to get mine to wrinkle like that but for some odd reason it won’t. Any pointers that you might add I will appreciate, also how many coats did you do? and finnally was it the prepping job maybe you think that’s what made it turn out the way it did ? If I have to redo mine this will be the last time I ever do it again so I’d like to do it right this time with no flaws. lol
