Yea Jake it has been a long while and my e-mail DID get hacked. Everybody’s been gettin on me about spamming up there mailboxes. I can’t wait to see your car start coming together. If you need some OEM parts I know of a pick-a-part that has some pretty good finds from time to time.
hit me up at my email address
we’ll talk. i need some parts. I have a WTB thread in the classifieds here, and a guy has what I need. I just want to make sure I have a backup plan in case something happens (if he accidentally breaks a window, etc.)
hit me up. or, give me a call at:

The build begins TOMORROW!!!
can’t fucking wait!!!
got pretty much all my parts, going to pick up the c-pillar tomorrow, hopefully. Thanks to a fellow member on there
Hopefully I’ll have time to pull the motor and start getting rid of wires, etc. and start tucking. After I get all the wires, etc. tucked, it’ll be time to begin the shave.
yaaaaaaaaaay!
what got done?
pulled car out of storage, started pulling rear interior parts out. didn’t get to make too much progress, as I had to drive to Laurel, MD to pick up the remaining “pieces of the puzzle” so to speak. thanks to Matt, aka fellow member dalejrfan88, I was given a hell of a deal on both rear quarter windows and the B/C-pillar section needed for the repair of the structural damage. Thanks, Matt, for providing the single most important part needed for the rebuild, and thank you, again for meeting me half-way for one hell of a long drive.
The piece I needed:
I’m not off again until thursday, so that’s about all I’m gonna be able to do for now. Thursday, the rear part of the interior is coming out so I can provide easy access to the c-pillar section so the body shop can cut out the old, and weld in the new.
Before the car goes to the body shop, the motor will be pulled and a wire tuck/bay shave will be performed by me already have a welder on loan from my uncle, and have been doing some practicing, and have pretty much got it down to an exact science, lol. I’m not tackling the big part (c-pillar) because, even though I feel good welding small spots, I’m not comfortable enough with something that is critical to the car’s structure. I’ll leave THAT part, to the professionals. I’m saving a load of money by doing the rest myself.
Hoping to have the interior out by mid thursday, and have the motor pretty much ready to pull. then, first thing friday, pull the motor, fenders, etc. and get to work on the tuck. i need to buy a hole-saw bit for my drill. what sizes would you seasoned “tuckers” recommend? also, good places to get the appropriate sized grommets, etc. for protecting the wiring as it passes through the fender wells.
Thanks, people.
excuse me, but can I get some updates please:D
i made sexy time with the exhaust tip on the GReddy SP2… :naughty:
Hahahahaha
so, i ordered this battery last week. it hasn’t come in yet, but its not due for a few more days. Quick question, what kind of terminals do I need to buy for it? It has posts like I’ve never seen before. I’m not familiar with this type of battery. How do I connect my cables to it?
Deka ET20XL

thanks…
you need this kind of terminal. with your battery you should get these metal cubes with threads in them. you slip the cub into the post of the battery and you screw the terminal on. its hard to tell though from your pic it looks like the terminals are solid so you just screw the terminal on.
you should be able to pick those up at any radioshack or audio installer in your area
the best place, that i’ve found, to buy terminals, switches, grommets, etc is http://www.delcity.net/
thanks, a bunch. As soon as the battery gets here (according to amazon, Friday) I’ll hit up my local car audio shop and get their input on it, to find something that will hook up.
thanks everyone.
also, for the record, my work schedule has changed for the week, so I’ll actually be able to work on my car all day tomorrow. no longer am I off Thursday and Friday, I’m now off tomorrow and Sunday (which works out SO much better) so I should be able to get a ton of stuff done this week
FUH-KEENG BUMMED
So, I just talked to the body shop that is going to be doing the structural repair on the car…
To do all the stuff that I really want to do with the car, it will never be done in time for the mega-meet on May 29th. With my ridiculous work schedule, I won’t have enough spare time to get the tuck and shave done in a reasonable amount of time. Then, the body shop says its going to take at least 3 weeks to do the structural repair, and fixing a rust spot. So, after figuring all this into equation, I won’t be done until mid-June. So, since I can’t get all that done in time, I’m just gonna get the structural stuff fixed, tuck what I can, relocate the battery (WHICH CAME IN TODAY!!!), and install the JDM side-markers before I paint it.
I’m bummed, big time. I really wanted this thing done, the way I wanted it for the meet. But, its just not realistic at this point. The shave will have to wait until I do my swap (hopefully this time next year). At least the car is going to look great everywhere else. Just not as nice under the hood, as I wanted it to. Oh well, guess the hood’s gonna stay closed for the meet.
thats how my car was. don’t feel too bad. See ya at the meet. if my civic doesn’t sell i’ll be in that.
these came in today:
fitment isn’t TOOO bad, for those that express concern about the battery not fitting in the box. I will likely put some foam padding on each side to eliminate movement, and to help in vibration resistance. the only area that isn’t “close” is the width. Its about a half inch too wide for the box. So, I’ll be using some shims or something to ensure the box gets secured to the car in a sturdy fashion
about 1/8" short
about 1/2" too wide
I also just ordered a set of JDM side-markers, brand new in OEM packaging for $45 shipped. sexy time!
Nice, keep it coming.
ordered these (JDM side markers) yesterday afternoon, at around 4pm EST. As of 5:45pm EST yesterday (same day they were ordered) they have been shipped. less than 2 hours after ordering, I have confirmed that they are already on the way. AWESOME speed in service…

hopefully they get here in the next few days. They’ll be installed on Sunday, if so.
