Integra Trailer Hitch?

Not sure where to post this question… but has anyone here ever put a trailer hitch on their 91-ish Integra? I’m about to buy one for track use and would love to be able to tow my little 4’ utility trailer behind it like I used to do with my S2000.

Yes,

I have a trailer hitch on the integra.

It attaches to the two threaded holes on the center of the bumper support, and also to the tow hook under the car.

I’ve used it to tow WAY more than I should with the car, LOL

Never had a problem.

Go to http://www.hitch-web.com/proDescrip.asp?ProductCode=3842&OID=8 and check out their hitches. They have pretty good prices and pictures showing the installation. That is where I got mine.

The hitch is rated at 2000 lbs. The car is rated at 1000 lbs. the boat pictured weighs 1900 lbs dry. with the trailer, fuel, gear and stuff, it was probably closer to 2500-2700 lbs. the car pulled it just fine… Now Stopping was a different story :frowning:

haha is that the sea-doo jet boat? those things are crazy. people whip those around like they were drivin a teg on water…haha

Close… it’s a 1997 Yamha exciter.

Twin 110 HP yamaha 1100cc engines.

top speed about 55 MPH, and yes, it spins on a dime, LOL

It’s a blast.

Awesome photo. Thanks for the advice man.

Just ordered Curt hitch #11145 for my 92 RS. Once I get it installed, I will take pics and post them here.

Damn you must gots some big hairy brass balls for towing that boat on your teg… haha LOL. I used to tow a motorcycle in the back and I hated when I had to stop… but a boat… haha… just becareful when you take turns on a cliff or else the boat’s gonan pull you off the cliff… cool pic nonetheless!

HaHaHa

No, I only did that a couple of times until I bought a real tow vehicle.

…and luckly, there aren’t too many cliffs here in south Florida

hahaha, man that looks like it would be so stressful on the motor/tranny

It pulled fine. The teg had more than enough power to pull it. Even up the boat ramp! LOL

But braking was the issue… you could REALLY feel it pushing.

One of the last times I used it to tow the boat, I was braking through a turn and I felt the back of the car break loose and start to go sideways. Luckly, there was no one in front of me, so I accelerated and straightened it out. (Thank god for Front wheel drive).

But that was the deciding moment for me when I said “I really need a truck”

Yeah, towing a boat is probably not a good idea in general. I’m getting the hitch to carry my bikes. I have been looking at both roof bike racks and hitch mounted bike racks, and decided that on this generation teg, hitch might be better plus I already have hitch mounted bike rack.

The hitch is backordered till beginning of January. Once I get it and mount it, I will post pic.

I have one it is pretty nice with the B20z2 I have a picture posted in the let’s see some 4dr’s post.

can i get a up close pic of the hitch? the site says no welding right?

If you click on the link to the “installation instructions” on that same website, it will show/tell you everything yu need to know.

there are two threaded holes on the bottom of the metal bumper support that it bolts up to, plus it has a third bolt that goes through the existing tow hook in the back of the car.

i have a b20 (crv) motor and i was just wanting to pull a jetski around some this summer. Do you think i would have problems from your experience?

Pulling isn’t the problem. regardless of what motor you have in there. I pulled my 17 foot Just fine with the Stock B18A. It’s the STOPPING that didn’t work, LOL

The Car is rated to pull (and stop) 1000 Lbs. One Jetski and trailer will weigh about 800 lbs at the most, so you will be fine.

I finally received the hitch and installed it couple of days ago. The install took about 20 minutes and no drilling was required. There are 3 bolts that needs to be tightened down. One you can see in the picture. Two of them goes to the bumper support. Sorry for the bad pics. I took it as it was getting dark and the car has not been washed for a while. Here are some pics.

More pics after carwash

Here’s some additional pics of the car with the bike rack.

Just upgrade the braking system if you’re that worried

white90,

not sure which which post you are making that reccomendation to but at least in my case, when the trailer weighs as much (or more) than the tow vehicle it’s not a matter of upgrading brakes. Even with the best brakes in the world, the tires will break loose from the pavement and the trailer will push you down the street.
