Yea i see it now. the pics where just far away im on a phone so there small
some good vids man
mines 27x7x2.5 if i remember correctly. didn’t cut my bumper support it’s sitting right underneath it. had to remove the grill from the bumper. i probably could have kept the grill but i didn’t feel like spending hours on fitting the bumper so i just cut the grill completely out and it fits nice.
here’s a pic without the intercooler to kind of see what i cut out.
i think mine is 29x9x3.5, I cut a huge portion of the bumper support bar out. unless you like your bumper sagging i’d leave the support on.
redtegra: thats nice that is the exact same way i was going to run my intercooler piping too how bad was that to do? and did you have to cut any for the passengerside piping? what kinda power are you makein? it looks great thanks.
8URV8: that is a huge intercooler it looks great do you know what your power is to the wheels?
i had to cut the bumper support a bit for the hot side piping but not a lot. it fit with the support uncut but the piping rubbed a bit. as for power i made 300whp 292ft-lbs on a stock ls at 18psi. then i built an ls/vtec and only made 260whp 220ft-lbs at 15psi and spun two rod bearings. building another ls/vtec this year and aiming for 400whp which was my original goal.
i would like to get a bigger intercooler once i reach the 400hp area but i’m not sure how it will fit with my piping. i think if i tilt it forward a little it should clear if i cut the support out.
wow you have had alot of builds this will be my first i was shootin for 300whp but im not sure im planin on runnin 12psi i will have rods maybe pistons cams and some bolt ons, i finally cut my bumper cover i just cut the bottom it should be enough i love how it turned out i still need to cut the pass side little pocket for the piping. here are some pics.
what do you all think^^^
looks good as long as it fits.
mine would have fit like that also but i didn’t like the way it looked with only half the grill so i cut it all off. personal preference. had to cut the little side grills a lot however for the piping.
i loke the look of the top grill lol every ones diff, yeah i will have to cut those too i want to mount the intercooler b4 i did that though, did you have to cut the black on the very bottem of the cover?
car is making 337whp 232ft-lbs on a stock block b16 at 9psi running E85
dang that is some good power:up:
yeah i had to cut most of it because the intercooler hangs below the lip by a couple mm. depends on how wide your intercooler is.
mine isent to wide at all it looks pretty much the same as yours
well if its 7" tall and you put it up against the bumper support you’ll have to cut. you can see the mounting tabs in my second and third pic right below the lip.
yep i see them i was thinkin thats what it was but i wasent sure but thats no biggie the bottom of the bumper wont sag over time w/o it will it sorry for all the questions haha
mine has been like that since summer of 2008 and hasn’t sagged at all.
gah i cant wait to get mine turbo’d
