i was wondering if you all could put up pics of were you had to cut your bumpers and how and were you mounted your intercoolers just to get ideas on best ways to do it all thanks.
do you have an intercooler now? my first intercooler mounted on the sides but this new one I have mounts on the top. I had brackets for the first one that made it easy to mount to the radiator core support. drilled a couple holes and mounted it. it depends on size as to weather or not you’ll need to trim anything on your bumper my i/c is 3" thick and 25" long but i didnt need to trim anything to fit it to the 92-93 bumper. you also didnt specify what year bumper.
this is a pic from like 5 years ago so i no longer have this but its an idea:
i cant remember the dimensions of my IC off hand, but i didnt have to cut the bumper at all, i used a small hole saw to cut through the top of my bumper support and ran bolts down through the support that threaded into the IC
btw, what spoiler is that smokeintegra? any side/rear photos?
I need to upgrade my intercooler and this would be something I’d be interested in seeing as well. My DA is a 91 with a 92-93 front bumper, so I’d have to cut some of the 91 front bumper support I for a taller intercooler. Anyone have a 91 with an intercooler bigger than 27" end to end, 6.5" high and 3.5" thick? I really want my new one to be higher than 6.5" so anything higher I’m curious to see how the support was cut.
i have a 90-91 front bumper and its like a ebay style intercooler the kit isn’t ebay though haha
I took alot off the bumper and alot more then i wanted @ the bottom of the bumper. I had to get a lip to cover the bottom, i didnt want to cut any of my rebar for saftey reasons so thats why it sit’s a little lower then what i would of liked it. but still looked sick and everyone understood what was going on under that hood lol if i remember coreectly it was 42" full lenth, 7 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches thick.
Merry Xmas*
thats sick it looks great
I think this is the only one i really have.
Check this thread out. Most of the pictures are probably mostly x’s by now but still a good read for the original poster.

Let’s see those pics!
looks good guys still needin the 90-91 bumper info lol
pretty hard to fit it in a 90-91. im pretty sure most just convert to a 92-93 b/c the older ones @ the bottom come back towards the car. id personally invest in a new rebar/bumper cover paint or get matching colour. but i wish u luck on ur hunt for the bumper fmic.
just as a side thought, maybe a smic?.. idk depending on your setup and your power goals.
I’m still running a 90-91 bumper with the stock bumper beam also. The only thing I had to do was shave a little bit of the black plastic on the inside. wah la! I am going to get rid of that bumper beam because it is so big and bulky but it fits with everything on right now. So its staying on until we have time to make some new supports to leave it off.
sweet! haha and your intercooler is bigger then mine so it shouldent be to bad at all, see im getting my car ready for me to paint it and while i have the bumper off and b4 i paint it i want to get it cut and the intercooler mounted so i will be ready when the time comes lol
just an fyi though, my piping sits a little different than the stock turbo kit piping usually sits. So keep that in mind.
yeah i saw that it was ran diff ill prolly have to cut were the vents are too maybe idk i might run it like you did it looks pretty good

what did you do with your power steering lines that are right there? did you just put the intercooler over it?
i just moved them on the other side of the bar that runs vertical had it just in front of the rad. u can also bypass that cooler line itself if u want.
o okay cool thanks man that should be pretty simple
Polishman did you just put an intercooler onwith no turbo? I just dont see it maybe im blind.
the last picture u can see my manifold and the oil line going to my turbo, but u cant see my bov
this was my beta version before i clocked my turbo and had everything welded
i accually have no pictures of the final product but i do have a couple vids on youtube.
dont want to jack this thread tho. hope da’s intercooler install goes smooth!!!
