Intercooler kit for g2?

Has anyone found a good intercooler pipe kit for a G2 integra that has good fitment and is affordable… or is going wit a DIY kit the best way to go?

Diy

DIY i did mine got. bought ic like CCA and then a chargepipe kit from tunertoys.com and one extra u-bend all 2.5"

this is wut i did i needed to grind 2 squars out in the frame next to the bumper supports for the pipes, i welded an intake together, this is just the piping, i didnt have my bov on at the time

Mine is done similar but I didn’t have to cut anything. 3" CAI into fender. 2.5" mandrels for IC. JRC IC. The last pic doesnt show the BOV, it was added after the pic was taken, its right next to the battery now.

no one makes ic kits for a decent price, save ur money and make ur own

here’s how i made mine…sorry for the crappy pics…

That’s basically identical to how I did mine. It wasn’t too difficult either. Just took a little bit of thought, and the hardest part was cutting through the frame.

There are 2 things I dislike about doing things (charge pipes) this way:

  1. How close the DP and the charge pipe are. Theres alot of radiant heat transfer going on there.
  2. You have to cut the chassis.

You pretty much have to go this route if your mani doesnt allow the turbo flipped around or if you want to keep the A/C.

The way dencio routed his piping seems best. Less piping. The charge pipe being close to the DP really dont make a diffrence. There is nothing but hot air flowing through it anyways.

Its all personal opinion as far as i’m concerned, either way works. To me it doesnt make sence to have the DP that close to the charge pipe. The DP is considerably hotter and can effect the temperature of the chargepipes. Those pipes are huge metal heat sinks and if it raises the intake temps even 10 deg your loosing HP.

I dont have any proof to offer though, just my opinion.

Mine is routed that way also. Thermo coating is your best freind :excite: I used Thermo wrap on my DP and thermo-coated the hot side of the turbo. temps stay down, and I run the hell out of my car, so it works, although I never had a problem before I did this either, so I dunno

DENCIO??? how hard was it to cut through the frame for the hot intake pipe??

i thought of doing in the backdoor method but i wanted a place to put decals and stuff on that peice of pipe over the top. i also mounted my turbo so the cold side is on the drivers side. i also welded my Aluminum intake with Mig cause it was 2 peice.

it isnt that hard , on my friends DA i used a 3’ drill bit type thing i had in my garage it is like a big circle with a drill bit in the middle, took a whole 5 minutes…

the hard part is putting that shit back on when u blow a coupler, get a 5/16th drill driver and use the drill to tighten them (after putting a layer of electrical tape down

too many couplers and soft pipe

well, they’re holding up fine for more than a year now with no issues and laid down 279whp 250tq @13.8 psi…
