Introducing myself/ And my progress of project

Hello all,

My names Jeff and i’m 21. Live in the ol’ Northwest. I’ve had this integra for over a year now and plan on never letting it go. I only got a part time job with 20 hours a week, so the income is slow but do what i can. haha
Anyways i’ve been lurking on here forever and thought it was time to show my stuff lol

This is the story from the first day, I’ll update on it more when i get home from work.

I picked up a 1992 Integra DA9 with 205k miles, and the girl that had it, had already moved on to a different car cause, she said it would overheat and 3rd gear was hard to get into and that she hasnt driven it in awhile.

So we go and get the car, starts right up no problem. Now the drive was not what i was expecting at all, I drove it from Kirkland to Smokey Point, and for all you non Washingtonians, its about a 40 mile trip. Now, we were ready to get it towed, but wanted to see how it drove. So I filled up the coolant and drove. Well I must say, it drove all the way there! And by the end i was weaving through traffic and it loved it! Anyways, got it home and cleaned the engine bay to see what we got and it all looks great!

Of course it has some cosmetic issues, It looks like it was egged on the roof and hood but wont be hard to fix :] Also, she had this controller hooked up for her PSP, and unfortunately DRILLED HOLES through the dash to hide the wires There is also a small dent on the trophy piece above the bumper on the driver side.

I later cleaned it out and washed the carpet and of course took pictures :]

Cleaning the engine bay as soon as I got home.

How the Engine bay looked, such a clean valve cover!

Dirty carpet under the seats, and that black box was for a car phone! lol

Typical rear carpet rot

Here’s where the person decided to have their psp controller glued to with holes drilled in to run the wires through! The hell!?!?

Heres the paint peel I was talking about, I was believed it was egged but from what i’ve been told its typical wear and peel on these cars.

Anyways that was the first day I got my car and assesed what all I had to do.
Will post more when I get home with more up-to-date pictures with what I’ve done.

Have a great day y’all.

~Jeff

sweet man.another da guy from washington.theres alot of us on here.we have pretty frequent meets at the krispy kreme at tacoma mall.swing by one time and meet the crew.plans for the da?

damn i miss the krispy kream meets by the mall…damn army

Thanks a bunch, and that sounds like a cool plan. Its a good drive, but would be fun.

And yeah, i’ll give plans out and what i’ve done so far haha

I plan on turboing it of course, and getting suspension, and such things… Not sure what routes i want to go yet but im definitely doing my research.

First thing I did was find a pair of 50/50’s and picked them up for $50 locally, a good find!

After that I had to do the valve cover and since it started peeling, I had an extra one left over and stripped it with paint stripper and liked how it looked, so I put it on.

I plan on getting my other valve cover painted metal cast blue, to match my piping…

Couple months ago I found a guy trying to trade his new Emusa turbo for a computer, so i offered my old gaming computer i built and he bit. When we met he asked if I wanted a blown Turbonetics turbo, so of course i said yes haha

The gold paint on the Turbonetics is flaking, but i plan on having it sand blasted. The turbo actually isn’t blown, just a bad seal. So it’ll be going to the diesel shop to get inspected and rebuilt. Chahoooo! And the shiny small one (Emusa) Is literally brand new and has all the caps on it still! It is an ebay turbo but apparently the better of the group lol

Anyways, after i started to drive the car I started learning that 3rd gear is pretty bad. It only grinds at high rpm and slowly getting worse. So i set out to find a transmission. Which I found after a few months of scouring Craigslist, picked it up for $150! Opened it up and everything looks good, but plan on taking it to a shop to get inspected to make sure i’m not wasting my time putting it in lol

Yesterday picked up a set of Stock Honda rims painted white, yet idk which car they came from… lol They were really dirty

And how they look now that i washed them

Good start man! I like the wheels. Not sure what they’re from either

Thanks, I like em too. For now at least, will most likely repaint them down the road.

Also, found what manifold i’m going to use for my turbo…

Its made by Spa, its a top mount, and diecast manifold. It also has a lifetime warranty as well :naughty:

those rims are from the accords and they’re 4x114.3, they’re not gonna fit on your 4x100

you are mistaken
yes the accords wont fit but these are the accords

idk what he has

accord wheels

4x114.3…might as well sell unless you’re doing a 4x114.3 conversion

Yeah, Just tried and they are 4x114… I’ll either sell/trade them or find adapters lol
I don’t really mind, basically got em for free so not a loss

Thanks for the info though guys

in for your build jeff, im liking of the things youve done to it so far.

Thanks Joe, btw y’all, sold the rims for $175… lol pure profit

Now to find a set that will fit mine and get tires and tabs

Got a new set of rims! For the price I sold the accord ones! And they have decent tires wahooo!

Here are pics! They are apparently Audi rims. Gunna of course repaint them and make em look good.

Looks good man, seems like you dig the 7spoke wheels lol

What year audi those come off of?

Haha yeah, I do… haha And I’m nit really sure. Gunna do front brakes today so I’ll look more into them

Well did front brakes and its great to actually be able to stop now

Also, I had a problem with the steering wheel turning hard left just to drive straight when i gave it gas. Jacked up the car and shook my wheels, the driver side wheel shook left and right like a dam weeble wobble. Took the wheel off and the outer tie rod was a few threads away from coming off! The cotter pin was non existant! So since the threads were destroyed i just went and bought another one for $20. It of course drives straight and awesome now haha

But dam was I lucky.

Horizon grey, love that color. Welcome to the club.

Ouu I have one too. Horizon gray ftmfw ! Looking good so far man. Good luck on building her.

Heres a picture of my horizon gray DA
