I just got a compression test done today, and her are the #'s
1- 220
2-205
3- 210
4- 225
I havent seen many this high, and this is on a 1990 Integra GS with the stock B18A engine. It has 200k miles, but my mechanic said it was probably rebuilt recently if it had this high of compression. LMK what you think about the numbers, and if it’s ready to go BOOST! thanks!
P.S. I’ll only be boosting 7-8 psi until I build a new engine.
their typical, and every motor is ready for boost. Go for it.
i only have ONE motor, and this is my DD, so i wanna be safe. I dont just want to “go for it” , lol. are there any other tests I should do before “going for it”? thanks!
leakdown test…my 91 da had similar compression #'s, but i use about a qt of oil every 1k. mine is probably the valve seals. i have 146k, and will be boosting as well. what turbo are you gonna run?
good luck.
make sure you have no smoke on startup or on decel, no oil loss, no coolant loss or pressure. I had moderate symptoms of all of thes above, did it anyways and my car has been running tits for 8k on 9#'s.
