ljoe built a b18a1 with pr3 pistons if i remember right, otherwise stock bottem end. i think he had crower cams and springs too. made good power. i have no idea where you heard a port job costs 1200. a local shop will install valvetrain, mill your head, and give it a mild port for 300-400 depending on the head. add 500 for full valvetrain. still well under a grand.
or a 2.2L gsr?
oh, i didn’t know that was you man. actually i used p30s morgan, huge fucking difference, come on man wtf. along with those i’m running crower 403s, stock valvetrain, but not for long as i plan on porting the head/matching the im and rasing the revs to about 7400.

140 hp for a 93-92 and 130 for a 91-90. Those are the stock numbers that honda provides. Remember if your engine is still stock it has at least 11 years on it. So these numbers should get lower over time.

uhmm ever heard of HEADGAMES? they have done heads for cars such as bullish racing and many other professional racers. shiet alaniz headjobs are like 2500 for a full race port job. but for 1200 u get a a street/race portjob that a local shop i have seen has yet to match. i for 300-400 i doubt a mild port will flow as well as a vtec head. bet he wouldve made more power wit vtec but then again to each of his own. just voicing an opinion
well i made 134/133 in a stock b20 block. just intake, header and test pipe…stock cams, intake manifold and exhaust.
thats why i would be mad with 140-155@whp on a camed and ported ls setup. i seen b20’s make 150@whp on just bolt ons, crower cams and valvetrain and good tuning.

good point, i never thought of the 2.0 block. but for what else you said, i’m not ported as of yet, and i’m running 148@the wheels so i don’t see the big deal with the b20 being so much better.

well my motor should be around 140-150 without the cams that i built the motor for. with the cams, i should have 180+WHEEL horsepower. with about 140-150 ft lbs. which no vtec motor can touch
doubt that buddy of mine just made 140ft lbs from 3k all the way to redline(8500rpm) check it out its on evans-tuning.com
also from b20z to ls id rather do b20 driven both raced both stock to stock the b20z owns just by torquewise also. my ls made 128whp and 112ft lbs and look how much torque my stock b20 pulled out with the same amount of bolt ons. imagine a b20z with slight portwork and cams? or even one with a gsr head with a skunk2 IM they’ll get up there in torque #s too.
ive got a B20Z with 84.5mm endyn pistons. 10.7 CR. right now its running through a B18B mani with a P75 head. dc header and thermal catback. it should put out about 140-150 whp. probably around 130s tq. with the 404s ill be using, with neptune (which your friend probably uses), flowing through a JDM ITR header with kteller exhaust, i should probably be seeing in the 180 whp area, with 145 or so ft lbs. on a vtec motor similarly built, you cant get the kind of torque numbers ill be getting
AHAHAHAHAH. i used to rev my ls to 7k with stock cams. that ebay chip was great. now i rev to 6900 with my c1.

Heavy? Last time I checked Tegs seemed ligh to me. I’m not tryng to diss you its just that I want to know what cars are you comparing them too. When I had my teg it felt pretty light to me. Specially when I got my 5000 pound supra.
I would rather be driving a teg right now then that car.
