is the b16a swap worth it in a da

b16 has not enuff torque go b20vtec if ya can

i have a b16a sir and pulls alot harder than my ls ever did.but i also have a short ass tranny so that helps to.just my .02

b16 only make power when it hits vtec ls pull harder when it hits torque now if u want a motor thats gona pull hard make that nice vtec sound and have lots of torque ls-v is the way .will beat any b16, gsr and typeRs will also keep up with the fankistainers (b20v) too but the only thing is it sucks cuz it bleeds alot if not build right . now if u want a fast ls with tourque all u need is p30 pistons and p75 head and b16 tranny and chipped ecu to pass 7k rmps

Stock LS rod bolts won’t handle 7k+ rpm for very long. They’re THE single biggest weak point in the LS bottom end.

hell no! dont do a b16. too slow in a heavy car, no torque. your better with a 1.8 or bigger…

I like my b16a. I’ve got a civic type r tranny with lsd and think that compensates for the lack of torque cause that tranny puts the power down so nice. I have no problem pulling on gsr’s

I didnt read anyones comments but my two cents is why downgrade in displacement? LS all day! (over the b16)

From a stop, a B18 would probably be faster due to the torque difference.

But on a highway run a B16 (with B16 gearing as well) will ‘slingshot’ past you. You’ll get a slight jump due to torque, but once the B16 builds rpm it will pull past.

Both can be fun and both have their ups and downs.
