It looks like the site has gotten much quieter lately.

So is this a good thing or a bad thing?

I would think part of it is due to the holiday season…

There have been numerous ‘build’/intro threads posted in these last few months, so we are indeed getting new contributing members. But the OGs are less and less active, and I’m sure we can guess at a few reasons why that is.

Overall, I don’t think it’s anything to worry about Neil.

i love this forum, i wish it was more active myself

it has gotten alot quieter and alot less help is being issued to threads. i do enough research and end up bumping old threads as a result in asking questions, and those questions get overlooked

lol its always been slow.i check g2ic once a month and never miss a thing.

it use to be blown up and hard to keep up with, and you actually got help

x2.

I’m new here myself but have spending hours going through forum posts to research issues and upgrades on my car. It does seem there were a lot more postings and responses a few years ago. My guess would be that as time goes on & these vehicles get older, there are less and less of them on the road and people are also moving onto other things.

This forum has been very helpful though and I’m very thankful for that.

More advertising. I try and tell all the DA owners I meet here about this place. More stickers. More clothing. :stuck_out_tongue: jk. I think it’s good enuff as it is.

Maybe an advertising spree is upon us? I personally tell everyone about g2. I sport my shirt with pride!
I have been noticing the slower and slower responses in the help threads. The FS/FT has been moving pretty good, though.
I can’t wait for the 2012 clothing sale. I need a hoodie!

I dont post up nearly as much but im always lurking around

i have the sticker on my lip but unfortunately they dont make a shirt for us 4 door guys, which sux cuz id wear it all the time

I have a 4 door shirt and 4 door sweater…I wish I was more active too but being busy gets in the way. I have no complaints, ya it’s a little slow but you can definitely pick out the users that will always be here.

where did u get a db1 shirt and sweater!!!???

I highly dislike this forum…

I think a lot of people have moved on over the years to different cars or have stopped modding altogether for many different reasons. I’ve seen a lot of blog posts and articles discussing how the next generations are not interested in cars in general anymore, not to even mention the car enthusiast/gearhead lifestyle. I’m thinking that maybe the lack of new members and the decline of posts has a lot to do with that. As people move on here, there are fewer and fewer to fill the ranks. It’s really too bad IMO.

But honestly, who can blame the younger generation for their car apathy given the circumstances. On one hand we have a trend for the past decade of automotive manufacturers offering less style, performance, and excitement for more and more money. On the other hand we have seen both laws and the enforcement of those laws become increasingly more strict in regards to speeding and illegal modifications. And to top it all off, the cost of living continues to increase while economic opportunity and wages either stagnate or go overseas. Lets face it, it makes less and less sense to dump money into cars the way we have, and I’m sure that’s how younger generations see it. What can you do. Well fuck it, gear head for life here.

Haha^^^Yes!

Plus, lets remember this forum is dedicated to one platform, has tons of accurate information, and members who are a HUGE help pretty quickly IMO.

All we need are some new outside-the-box thinking builds.

Lol :gtfo:

Well I personally love this site. I am more a lurker and I only post once in a while. How ever I have noticed a couple of new screen names who only sign on to try n sell things.

agree. i love this site and have also noticed this

Mr. Neil,

If it wasn’t for this site, my teg would have been junked along time ago. It all started one day with that pesky ICU beeping and a plethora of other things that your local mechanic would not know like a chirping speedo cable. When I found this site I got hooked on doing research. I use this site mainly to maintain the car. Just recently I had a stock antenna problem that it wouldn’t go down even with a brand new oem mast. I found out from tep tips it was a simple small piece. A simple piece in the motor that needed to be repaired. Who would of known that? That why I love this site.
