ITR Shift Linkage

Hey I’ve heard people say that they like ITR shift linkages. What’s different about them? I know that they fit in DA’s, but whats so special about them? Are they heavier? Lighter? Different Lengths? Thanks

i think i read somewhere they are lighter, stronger and shift smoother.

I’d like to know more bout this as well

It’s stiffer by design and has less slop due to the fact that our shift linkages are 11+ years old.

ITR from ANY year??

I have it. If you use it along with the stock Type R shifter, it actually sits closer to you due to the shifter being dual bent. (there is a pic in the thread above). I HIGHLY recommend using the Prothane bushings for the shift linkage, rather than the Energy Suspension bushing. I have used both, and the Prothane bushing is 3x better than the ES counterpart. Any other questions, feel free to email me at preston@g2power.com

which can easily be fixed by replacing the bushings.

Well, so far I’ve got…
Prothane Black Shifter Bushings, Front and rear.
Tenzo 94-01 Integra double bend shifter.

mav3rick478 - So what you’re saying is that a lighter linkage will make it shift smoother? I don’t get it because I think the heavier it is, the more inerta, and in return the smoother it would be. I doubt that the stiffness will make a huge difference because they’re pretty strong to begin with.

archon - yeah I’ve got new bushings so its not sloppy.

92GS-R - Please elaborate. I’m really interested in this.

i’ve driven some DA 's with this mod… and it rocks!!! its not necessarily the slop… but think of it as a more “notchy feel” lemme put it this way… when u put the shifter in gear… u KNOW its in gear. and yes as Vern said… there’s “short shifter” feel too it. u can’t go wrong dping this. oh BTW… any 94+ DC shift linkage will work… u don;t need the ITR one. the ITR is lighter and has the bling bling gold color tho =)

So in theory, we could just saw that weight on ours off to get the ligher feel?

There can be slop also on the actual linkage at the joint near the tranny.

Read… There is no theory, it does what it is suposed to do, period.

That’s what I’m talking about  The bushing will only do so much.

Nobody has posted why it feels different. I’m believing it’s just the shifter, and a difference in weight. I’m still lost as to what the reasons behind a lighter linkage are.

when i get home, ill elaborate more, but seriously, you have to feel it to know exactly what we are talking aboot.

Stiffer shift rod. Stiffer shift pivot thingy.

you said stiff rod. uh huhuhuhhuh

Then keep your OEM shift linkage

that is the difference right there…

Okay one more time… It feels like the shift pattern is gated, positive and linear. As opposed to being able to do figure 8’s with your shift handle while it’s in gear… hows that
