Robbie, I have been dropping your name at exospeed… they didn’t seem to happy
Shoe…none of your posts answered why.
To anyone that can give me a reason WHY the different linkage makes it feel different, it would be appreciated.

You must have talked to Roy
How much do these shift linkages go for? How much shorter are the throws? And are they really gold color? ew.
they go about $150-200. and u don’t have to get the ITR one… get a ANY hydro tranny’d Integra 94-01 and it will do the same thing… and it doesn’t make the throw shorter… it just gives a more “secure and i’m in gear and i know it” feel
yea, JDM ITR is the comber series
You guys have got me wanting to do this mod now.
isn’t the Gear Shift Rod thicker or beefy on the ITR linkage compared to ours? Could be one of the reason that it “feels” better
So far, the only conclusion I’ve come to, is that the main reason they feel different, is because they’re shorter or longer. I don’t see how a different material is going to make a huge difference, because the linkages on our cars are pretty strong to begin with. I guess weight might have something to do with it though. I just don’t really understand it. I think I’m going to have to make a trip to my mechanic’s place or the Acura Dealer. I think its like when people tell you to get a new intake because it adds horsepower, but they don’t exactly know why it adds horsepower.
I have this mod done. The thing is with an 11 year old shift linkage, the slop at the U joint is very noticeable. You don’t feel as in control as when you have the ITR shift linkage. The more gated feel they were talking about - when you go side to side it takes a little more effort to get it into each section (ie 1 and 2, 3 and 4). The shifter also sits back further, closer to the driver; if you have an armrest you can actually rest your arm on and and not remove it when shifting. Personally I think the armrest gets in the way but that’s a whole other story. So bottom line:
- LESS SLOP, STIFFER
- MORE DEFINED GATES
- FEEL MORE IN CONTROL
- BETTER DRIVING POSITION
I highly recommend the mod. I personally am running the JDM ITR shift linkage. (comber )
I recently put a JDM ITR shift linkage in my car, but if I’m just cruising in 5th gear, the shifter randomly falls out of gear and into neutral. Doesn’t make any sounds, just falls right out. Anybody else have this problem?
Mine never falls out of gear…
this has to do with your tranny, not the linkage. You need to check the fluid level, and inspect the internals.
I believe this is related to your pressure plate going past service limits.
What does ITR mean? :giggle:
I wouldn’t mind getting the ITR linkage just for the extra ‘control’ you guys describe, but it’s already too damn hard trying to get into 1st gear. I feel like I’m going to break my fork one of these days.
I thought I read somewhere that it is a shorter throw. What exactly makes the prothain better than E.S. ?
Prothane is pure polyureathane(sp?) where as the ES bushings are a mixture of poly and rubber I believe to give an OEM feel. Prothane is very stiff. I have ran both on my linkage and Prothane is better hands down.
With all this being said, does the 90-93 integra stock OEM or short shifter fit onto the ITR shifter linkage? Also which one is better, single or dual bend short shifters?
The OEM or an aftermarket shifter will fit with the use of washers. The ITR shifter however will not fit on an OEM DA shift linkage. I like the dual bend personally because it sits back closer to the driver so you don’t need to lean forward as much. HTH
