Jasper DA9 build thread. The money pit!

Alright so here goes. I purchased this shell roughly 8-9 months ago as a rolling shell. The car has sat ever since because I wanted to do everything all at once and not constantly be upgrading the car after it was put together. Here’s a list of what I have for the car and what I will be doing do it.

That might be all, I could be forgetting something.
I am hoping to get the engine put in this weekend or at least get off to a good start. This car was previously owned by a good friend of mine and member on here, preludewillie. He is responsible for the suspension and how overall clean the car and bay were when I bought it. For now I’ll leave you with a few pics, updates coming soon!

Car looks awesome, and Blundell does great work.

Awesome! This car was a huge favorite of mine back when preludewillie had it. Glad to see it still together and looking good! Good luck with the build!

Found some different wheels I wanna try out. Not sure about the fitment though.
16x8 +36 racing hart tracer type C wheels.

Made some progress tonight!!

Great progress! and nice Zenki S14

I like the green color looks darker than the regular jasper green at the valve cover damn very nice!

Thanks guys. Hopefully I’ll make quite a bit more progress this weekend. Might get some stuff done this week also we will see. Idk why the color looks different it’s supposed to be the OEM paint? Maybe it’s just the lighting.

faints that motor…lawd

Amazing!

Oh dear lordy, that motor is looking mint!
Can I ask what you used to respray your block (cleaning methods if it was a DIY?)
I just purchased another motor as my block decided to have holes blown through it…wanna tidy up the new motor

Very amazing work! will keep following!

Man - I laughed so hard when I saw the throwing money away picture. Classic.

Cleaning method was a wire brush with simple green and carb cleaner then des pray was done with cast aluminum engine paint from autozone.

Haven’t made tons of progress lately. Been busy, lazy, lack of help and waiting on parts. Luckily I’m in no rush! I did finally get my intake tube and manifold in from All in Fab. Just ordered the water neck and thermostat housing from him earlier this week so it should come soon. Here’s just a few pictures I took of the parts I received. Trying to decide what to do with my fuel rail set up.

It’s not a money pit, it’s a work of art…

Much better way of thinking about it! Lol. I’m happy with it that’s for sure. I know it’ll all be worth it in the end. I had my eye on this car the whole time preludewillie had it never thought I’d get him to sell it to me but I eventually did. Now I’m being really picky to make sure everything is exactly how I want it.

damn this thing is looking amazing!!!

So I still haven’t got it put together yet but I have managed to get some more parts.
I have a Hondata thermal intake manifold gasket
A thermal throttle body gasket
And this week I have ordered a ICB shift knob, CTR N1 Crank pulley, a golden eagle fuel rail, and a Nardi Classic steering wheel. Still trying to decide on a hub but I believe I am going to go with the checkerd sports hub.

Also, here is a picture of my ALL IN FAB water neck and thermostat housing!

I’m digging that AN upper waterneck/thermostat setup! Where is the overflow going to be located?

Build is coming along great Beau!
