it takes a real man to drill into a freshly painted engine bay
Updates:
Completed all of the wiring and brakes
Doing a quick prep on the engine bay and the painting it one more time with a quick coat. The motor is ready to go in after that!
Dam bro it looks clean
Thanks…more updates to come this weekend. I just bought a clutch, Ground Control extended hats and 3 BAR map sensor
Good choice on the clutch kit Jon. What flywheel are you running?
just curious i just bought the same clutch for my teg how much did you pay if you dont mind me asking?
That’s about how I’d like my bay to look. Well done, sir
Keep up the good work. I always like seeing when there’s updates to this thread when I get email alerts for my subscription to it.
Thanks Kevin, I am really determined to get this thing tuned and on the road this year so the motor is going back in this month hopefully. I’m using the stock flywheel for now and I’m installing the lsd later in the summer. I want to get a Type R flywheel but I’ve had some trouble finding one for a reasonable price.
I did some serious hunting on the internet and I actually only paid 220 shipped for the clutch!

Mike’s is about the same progress. Getting ready to throw two motors in:cool:
Update: Put one last coat on the engine bay tonight. I’m really happy with the way it came out.
Finished the prep
and
Fresh Paint
Also have the trans ready
Outstanding work thus far! Cant wait to see it completed and on the road.
Very nice, im sure you guys are getting excited
Should get some nice billet mounts. Hasport, Avid, or whatever. They would REALLY make your bay pop.
Paint looks great. I can NEVER say anything bad about a fellow Captiva Blue Pearl DA owner.
Bay looks stunning, man. I wish I would have had the time to go that far with mine. I can’t express enough how much I love your engine bay, bro. Awesome work
Wow the bay looks great, can’t wait to see it together. How much did you pay for the gromets and nuts for the valve cover? I lost mine and need new ones lol
I might have some for you, Herb. I’ll see what I’ve got the next time I work on the DA.
Bay looks 10x better now that you redid it! I wasn’t a fan of the first iteration, but this one got my attention
Looks sick man i like the pic of the b18a1, with the clean ass valve cover! looks good!
