does anyone know if they are shaped the same? interchangeable?
pretty much, if it would be interchangable, it would make projector headlights look like jdm 1 pieces, but im unsure of how the lighting will be since the bulbs are located in different spots…
and it would help me with a project of mine…
anyone with the newer projector headlights would like to oven it, get the lense apart, and trade me the clear lenses for my jdm ones?
im talking about these lenses… the lines where the lenses mates up to the housing looks similiar…

yea i know, i think it’s close enough, i’ll trim it, and i’ll try to use extra silicone 
but still, cheap is still about $150
true well theres only one way to find out. i dont think any1 is willing to do it.

Just take apart the Ebay lights when you buy them and send him one of the lenses so he can test fit it on some real one pieces. I’d say I would do it but he is alot closer to you than I am. Do it up and let us know, Ive been interested in this also. I think it would be awesome for HID’s.

Yea I was actually looking at that, since that would allow the Projectors in retrofitted to 1 pieces work. Since there wouldn’t be lines in the lens anymore to help spread the light.
Would be possible to get a clean light with a good cut off. All you’d have to worry about is the backing and glare reduction, since the housing is not meant to hold HID light.
The lens LOOKS like it would fit on a jdm 1 piece, worth a shot.
did lots of heating with a blowdryer, did lots of unscrewing, cutting, etc etc…
new projector is mounted, and stuff modified… i put the oem jdm lense on, and it puts out some light… will need adjusting…
when i take off the lense though… wow… just… wow… clean cut off… non-hid projector H1 bulbs i believe it is…
i’ll have pics up when i get a chance to get them uploaded…

just got the other side together, done, and on… light output is dull, but it gives off a kool effect at night… i might try to remove the headlight lenses, and just see how that looks on the road… if it isnt good either, then i’ll just use them to retrofit other projectors in (these are some cheap “projector halo headlights” for a civic)
but if it does have better light output, i’ll try harder to get the projector 1 piece lenses. but if i cant find that, i’ll try sanding down the insides of the headlights with a sanding block. start off really rough, maybe 150 grit, then work my way up… i marked off an area at the top of the lense where light doesnt go, and tried clearing it… i got it flat and clear, but it wasnt as good as i wanted, but that was by freehand & sandpaper… then rubbing compound and polish.
now i’ll see how i can do with a sanding block… 
if all goes well, H1 projector HID project may come out looking clean

I’m taking mine apart next week to do some mods to the ghey radiator corners. Do you want to do a test fit just to see if the lens even fits?
If the lens does fit, I might might have an idea to help you out…

When you guys find out if they fit or not, post back here. I am interested in this project. I have been toying with the idea of putting hids in the car (also reading the various threads here about hids in tegs), but never got past the fluting on the lenses (JDM or USDM). If you guys can get past that, and get good output, I am willing to throw the money down to get the hids and lenses.
i’ll take my lenses off my projectors, but the lens has the nipple thingy. u dont want that do u/?
no… the nipples wouldnt look as clean as the all flush ones…

till then, i’ll be sanding out the inside of a jdm headlight lense tonight to try to clear it out…
