yeah, ill try 2 see if I can make everything come together in a cleaner way, at least till next year…
yeah i agree mold them in. thats what I did with my accord lip.
^ Ugh. Slanted pictures again… someone write a damn Teg tip on how to photograph cars properly.
Back on subject:
Very nice. Not because it looks amazing, it looks alright. Not because the install is flawless, could be better.
But I appreciate bringing something different like this to the table, very valueable. Overall, I think this is a success.
I like everything ELSE about your car, not the flares. Just too much for a DA. I’m not a fan of messing with the DA’s body lines…they are about perfect to begin with. I do approve of the molding pinstripe though!!! If you molded them as suggested it would look ok in the front, but the back, it’s just like flat side body and then curve right next to it, it clashes pretty hard. But who knows.
85% of magazine covers are slanted pictures. Sometimes (but admittedly not as much as everyone who does it thinks) its the only way to get a good angle on what you’re trying to shoot. I used to do it a lot more than I do now because I realize how hard they are to look at, but there’s times where you can’t avoid it.
Ya, so on both sides of the car on the cover they can print “TONS OF MAD JDM SHIT INSIDE Y0!!!”
slanted pictures are for those who cant afford a nice wide angle lens, obviously the longest length of the picture is diagonally. I’m not saying its necessarily a bad thing, I do it too. Manipulation of angles is a large part of photography.
12-24mm f/4 and 10.5mm f/2.8 here. Its not because I can’t afford a wide angle lens. It really is the only way to convey the visual information you’re trying to convey sometimes.
i don’t like ‘molded’ in lip or skirts or anything for that matter. im not too sure about slapping on another car manufacturer’s parts…im against that, but still it does look OK. Could of been alot cleaner, i hate having to drill holes in my car, i won’t even drill my door panels to install tweeters. got to give it up to you for creativity though. just patch up the drilled holes, and paint it black…it looks better that way in my opinion, keeping the flares black.
i love the rims
What’s with the side mirror?
It looks ok…different. Are you going to fix all the dents/paint scrapes, emblem holes?
It looks a little too rice for me.
I really want to know what wheels those are. Those are so nice. (The 5-spokes)
some times i feel liek this board is just ricers heaven… am i the only one on here who thinks this is pure rice?
double post sorry.
You should of used black screws. Are those flares snug to the fenders or are they gonna let water leak behind them and rust out where you blasted holes through your car with self tapping screws.
So what gen Jetta did these come off of? do you know a specific year? I wouldn’t mind doing this to one of my G2’s… It would be sweeter if you molded it instead of having some screws… but that’s just my $.02.
whats going on guys, have’nt posted on a while well 2 answer ur question, I think the year of the vehicle’s between 85 and 90 not really sure, but just go to the VW section on the junkyard n Im sure ull recognise them right away, as far as my DA planning on selling the rims n get me some sport max just waiting on the income return:clap: as soon as I slap them on the car I shall post new pics
It’s not bad looking, it’s different. My biggest problem with it is the screws holding it to the body…they stick out like a sore thumb. I would like to see them painted to match along with the sides skirts, but thats IMO.
im feelin the flares. but not so much the side skirts, the pinstripe isnt bad it just needs to be re done. im in to see how it looks with lower offset wheels.
i would deff lose those numbers on the rear panel.(things like that remind me of nascar)
any updates? i wanna see more shots. different angles perhaps?
