Just a friendly reminder about security

Had my first theft attempt on my teg happen to me outside the parking lot of a gym at night. Came back to my door partially open and alarm tripped. No damage too. Luckily, I parked near the front entrance, near where alot of people would be(supermarket), and my siren is very loud. After this experience, I will be doing the hood cable relocation and a few other things soon. Just wanted to remind people to make sure to keep your teg safe.

its really bad in LA i just dont take my car 2 places wer i cant see it frm wer im goin to be

lucky you man, I activate my kill switches even when I park it in the garage.

Yeah I feel very lucky. I’m surprised they didn’t even try to pop my hood. Luckily they were only newbies.

Pager alarm system with back up battery. ECU kill, fuel kill. Autolock.

I need to look into a security system and other things to make it hard to take off with my DA. Any suggestions? I saw someone say something about hood release relocation, kill switches, and auto lock. How tough are those to do?

Once I get my green DB2 I will guard it jealously.

I just don’t take my integra off base for an extended period of time, someone already tried to take the vtec molding only being gone 5-10minutes.

i just had my 4dr broken into last month, redid my alarm and hood release which i held off on till it was too late… can never be to safe now days

^^ AT LEAST THESE THINGS!

$100 to $150 for all of that, and you’re at least putting up a good wall.

Like i said never slip!!

Gosh, Mind as well rip out this 15 year old DEI “python” alarm out. Thieves will laugh at what I have. Not even sure this python alarm has an ignition kill. But,

though it served me well 15 years ago with two attempted theft. Hang in there python alarm.

As long as it is a well functioning alarm, wired in properly with functions needed, and hidden. All you need to add is a backup battery, and possibly extra sirens/internal & external. Then you’re good without changing everything out entirely.

I certainly want to do that. Is there a DIY on alarm upgrades? Can you point one for me? Thanks man. I want to do both the backup battery and the extra sirens too.

Bump on this^

Matty how do you do a ecu kill, and a fuel kill, ect… I am looking at doing something to my teg. I had someone almost steal mine. There is now door damage on both sides and it’s rusting. I now need to get the whole car panted now. Any idea’s or links to do those? Thanks

Hood release:

Kill switches:
Just search the web. There are dozens of sites explaining how to wire it up.

Autolock:

I’m sure you can figure that one out.

I have heard that simply pulling the ECU fuse works instead of wiring a kill switch. What do you guys think?

SoCal/Inland Empire Teg owners need to be on alert status! Two days ago my son’s DB1 was broken into. No sign of tampering but Tegs are super easy to get inside. They took his pioneer car stereo, Ipod (from under the seat), and sub+enclosure (from the trunk). Unfortunate his alarm was disarmed because we were having problems with it and had it sent to the manufacture for replacement.

After we talked to Murrieta P.D. they informed us that THREE other integras had been hit that night! They were driving them two blocks and taking the stereos and dumping the car. One integra was missing and presumed stolen . The only reason I believe they didn’t take off with my son’s DB1 is because of the push-start system I installed in his car. There is no ignition switch in his car. Needless to say we are going to install his old viper alarm that I have laying around in the garage until his replacement advance keys unit comes in the mail.

Dang. Heard from a friend that a Red DA from Fremont got stolen in San Jose earlier this week too.
