Just got a 92 GSR

so i got a 92 GSR not to long ago, hopefully getting it inspected. let me know what you think. also any ideas for what to do to it let me know, i plan on selling my explorer soon so i can put a good 2500-3000 into almost immediatley!! im stoked. P.S. i tried to upload photos but it kept sayin invalid, any ideas?

try photobucket to upload photos. and also if it’s stock, keep it as stock as possible. if the gsr is in great condition, the car will really hold its value. if your gonna do any mods, use as much honda related parts as possible. if your gonna lower it make sure you keep everything you took out so whenever you wanna put it back, you can. how many miles does it have and which color is it?

i realize keeping it OEM would make it worth its maximum value, but in honesty i dont want to ricer it up, but i plan on making it clean, and quick…hopefully but its got 250K on it, yea i know, its a good bit, but i would like to rebuild the motor, preferably with performance parts, any ideas? thanks for the photo bucket idea!

The body looks quite mint so therefore I think it is best to leave it that way. Since the mileage is pretty high, I recommend just focusing on the engine to keep it running nicely. If you indeed want to go fast, you could plan on lowering it a bit as well along with new bushings.

How is it running? Does it have any problems? White GS-Rs are so nice.

congrats on the clean GSR.

Im sure that motor has plenty of good years in it. I would start with all new OEM bushing inclding the T/A’s. that alone will make it fell like a new car;)

i do like the white, but i was considering blacking it out and putting a red lip around the rims to match my streetbike. idk though, i will eventually get it repainted just not sure what color yet. it runs beautifully only problem ive noticed so far is if you sit for a little the temp rises some, but i can always get a new thermometer.

BLKACK1 congrats on the clean GSR.

you know where i can get those for a good price? any good websites period? i mean ive found acouple but any tips would be awesome

(this is the color theme i was thinking about)

I took her for inspection today…wish me luck!

Nice GsR. Do what you want with it. But please don’t black out your lights on your white car.

+1:rockon:

Haha no in not blackin out the lights. I ment paint the car black, black rims, with red accents. Also…I unfortunately didn’t pass inspection due to Front wiper needs to be moved up sone. Window tint ( previous owner). Front marker light. Transmission front mount(bolt and bushing), rear rotors and pads, right wheel frozen stud, and tie rod. My friend sai just to sell it…I don’t want to, what do you think?

I said fix it up so it passes inspection first. Black DAs are sexy, but leave it white. Get legit wheels (Mugen, Volks, Works, Enkei RPFs1, SSR. etc), get Koni Yellows/Ground controls, Tanabe Super Medallion Touring Cat back exhaust, Hytech header, S2000 antenna, amber cluster and climate control, upgrade intake, get set of cams, awesome Intake manifold, nice front bumper lip, JDM one peices, and your set to show off you DB2. That’s what I’ll do if I had $2500-$3000 to spend on my DA. But yeah, that car looks like it was well maintained, except for the inspection part.

yea i got some ideas, im thinkin performance wise, rebuilt the motor, intake manifold, intake, header, exhaust. basic stuff, if compresion is good, maybe low boost. stage 1 or two clutch, light weight flywheel. appearance wise, repaint whatever color, rims, tint, lowering springs, struts, sway bars. etc.

but does anyone know of a website to get actual OEM parts off of or do i have to go to a dealer? thank

i ordered the tie rod and marker light, and i will be ordering the rotors and pads soon. but it seems as if no one knows the part number or what it even is for the front trans mount, im not sure if its a bushing or a bracket, the bracket its already on the car, just no bolts for it, does anyone know the size of the bolts or where to get the information, or even the actual name of what im tryin to get.hah thanks

the bolts are metric. i don’t remember off the top of my head but something like m12x1.5 i believe. the front mount is like any of the three other mounts.

here’s a picture of my front mount. it’s an innovative mount. hope this helps you somehow.

that shits gangster

welcome to the site! I see you are from md, get that thing on the road and come to some of our meets! I have a gsr, but I pulled the 1.7 out. I am thinking about building it up this winter and throwing some boost at it.
