Looks good man
That looks bad ass. I would love to end up with that but I have decided to hold out. I need to get another vehicle before I tear into this DA but with the rust I really would rather find a DB and start with that. I hate taking this one of the road cause i get 33 miles a gallan and I work like an hour away from home so it is perfect for me but weekends suck with the kids climbing in and out. Hence my KADB1 goal.
Hey you guys. for the axles are you guys running special axles? Like did you have to take the boot off and swap the outer rotating spline on the k series axle with a b series style spline to get to fit in the hub or does it just fit right in?
32mm K-Serie Axle fit in the B-Serie Hub
yeah base model RSX axles will work and abs-lsd your pic is just pure sex, i can’t wait to k swap lol i doubt id even drive it much but just to have it would be nice, looking at jdm type R $5000 is alot for a motor but fuck it lol go big or go home, just gotta find a nice shell to stuff it in, although i may buy the motor and everything that goes along with it before getting a new shell that way i don’t have a shell sitting around in the yard with the other junkers lol.
Thanks lownslow. Finding a bare shell and starting from scratch would be to much work for me lol. I hear the base rsx axels work with our cars. I couldnt find any for a decent price around here (auto recyclers wanted 200$ each) so i went with custom lenght drive shaft shop axels that cost about the same.
Yeah drive shaft shop is good stuff I don’t mean bare just a shell with no motor or blown up or something my shell has to much rust to warrant a 6-7k motor lol
I hear you man, its hard to find a DA clean enough to justify the swap lol
It’s possible just have to go much further south than where I live lol one day tho it will come
Abs-lsd, just curious what radiator hoses you used.
I usually hate mismatched bays, but the panda theme actually looks nice.
EDIT:
Just noticed the P:heart:M bottle overflow also, that’s a first. Like that too.
im doing a k swap in my car the k swap type r, or doing a frankenstien build.
i just bought a shitload of parts including a 6 spd tranny fully built, with performance clutch, flywheel, aftermarket header, an shitload of stuff. mine wont be stock though its getting built. an eventually i want to have it supercharged. going to be tucked and shaved as well.
So you have all that stuff but no engine? isnt that the main part of the swap. you should have thought this out a little better. Its a lot of money to just buy things out of order and still not knowing exactly what you want.
Well I plan on buyin a motor and all the shit to do the swap before I buy a car to put it in nothing wrong with piecing it all together
got a good deal on all the parts, it saved me alot on doin swap.
im looking for a k series with rsx type s, or a type r rsx swap. then build it an next yr id like a supercharger.
[QUOTE=abs-lsd;2135089]No more snow! Your work space must be amazing. Im dealing with a one car garage here lol
Im almost done.
Heres a little something something.

is that a 2.0 or 2.4liter?
how’s the hood clearance? i’ve heard that the k24’s are about 20mm taller then the k20’s. Do you think it would fit without cutting or propping the hood?
hey you guys. So hasport keeps bullshitting me on date for there release on the kswap mounts. 3 weeks ago they told me theyd be ready in a month then i called them today and they told me a couple months now. what im getting at is that i want to know how the innovtive ones are any input on rigidity? also should i be real stern about making sure they get me the 91 mounts? or do you think they got the bugs out of the system? since someone said they ordered the 91’s and got the 92-93 ones, i beleive.
i would def ask them about it cause more than one person has gotten wrong mounts, one person ordered 90-91 set and got 92-93 mount, his friend ordered 92-93 and got the 90-91 so they just switched, also its just one mount they switch i think he said tranny mount just don’t feel like reading back lol
Kyle - Its a K20A…no hood problems except for the water neck on the rad.
I would think there might be an issue with the K24 if you decide to use the rbc manifold…i doubt i have the extra 20mm needed. but if anything you would probably just have to cut the webbing.
I dont think hasport is realeasing the da mounts anytime soon…its been almost two years since they said they would and nothing yet…i guess theyre to busy with the V6 swaps and revision of k series mounts for other chassis…
And if you order the innovative mounts make sure to tell them about the tranny mount and the year of your car…they messed mine up and it was a total pita
alright ill make sure about the tranny mount.
On another note what ecu are you guys running in your setups? i just called rywire and asked about his k series conversion harness and he said its setup for k-pro or a flashed ecu. Im not knowledgable on the whole ecu programmingstuff and dont really know what flashed ahrddrive means. Do they just erase the data and reprogram the stock ecu or something.
Is K-pro just a waste of money unless your going for some serious horsepower300+? Because i plan on driving my car with the stock setup for a while tilll i get everything working great and then decide to build it up. But i read that even stock engines have significant power increase like about 15 horsepower gain.
If youre really on a budget i would say a prc(jdm k20a) ecu for a 2 liter. It doesnt have the immobilizer so you wont have that problem. If you have a usdm ecu then you would either need to get the whole immobilizer set up with the right key or go with an immobilizer bypass. Dollar for dollar the usdm ecu would cost more in the end (200 plus the bypass 200-250 instead of 300-350 for the jdm one).
If you can afford k-pro then go for it. I think its the only way to do it right. You wont have the mil on constantly for a million diff reasons. And tunning is key in getting power out a K even if its close to stock,
Read up on the k-pro its a programmable ecu not a simple preprogrammed chip.
