fur sure. and neither was i.
what tracking is this car going to see? just fun-time hotlapping or some sort of sanctioned body? ive seen your other threads and your goals have me interested, mind sharing them with us?
I went lapping for a season or two a while back with a dd set up to have some fun. From there decided to build a focused car without compromise for streetability(as long as i can drive it to and from the track). So my idea was to start on a solid base with potential. Thats where im at now. Non competitive lapping for the time being…i have a lot to learn driving wise.
Im shooting for a cage, boost, aero and slicks. DA time attack car, is there anything cooler?
Im not stating facts here as i dont know off the TOMH what a stock fuel pump flows but im 100% sure there not the same cause if they were, people would be boosting on stock fuel pumps with no problems at all.
Do you know around what hp the usually max out at?
damn phottos are dope super clean bay and i got that same looming(no possible way i could have skeezed that off of you cause i actually bought it a while ago) but, now i gotta find some other stuff
You could tell people i copied you;)
Hey man is yours back from paint?
Not yet… :tsk:
Hey abs or sil. did you guys have to modify the whole for the intake at all? Did you have to cut it open a litlle bit or not at all? What size pipe did you guys use? im just wondering before i paint the bay
Also abs with that hybrid wire pack are you capable of running it with k pro or am i going to have to modify that harness to get it to work
P.S. dont think my two month goal is going to be accopmlished got the mounts 2 days ago and had to send them back because they sent the wrong urethane. itll be a while im thinking before i get those back.
Dyno graph
I chopped up my b series cai and ran it to the pass fender(no windshiald washer bottle). I think its a 3inch.
Sucks about the mounts, effing inovative…
Im running k-pro with the hybrid harness. In fact i just had it dyno tuned monday. Heres the graph.

Is the rbc intake how you fit that full radiator in there? or is there room with the stock intake because i got like 6 hours on my radiator before i pulled the B last summer and wasnt sure if i could do that until i seen yur pic with it unless im seeing stuff that isnt there?
“Sucks about the mounts, effing inovative…”
it wasnt innovative this time got them from passwordjdm. they only have two choices 75a or 85a and i thought i was getting the 75a but the guy there sent me the 60a and now i got fucked have to pay for shipping to send them back and it wasnt even my fault that it was screwed up. Kinda shitty wont be going and ordering anything off there again. good lookin on the hybrid harness prolly get that next week.
Thanks again for helping me out abs your making this shit to easy. Keep up the great info and have fun in that whip
Maaan! When I grow up… I wanna be just like you guys! Expensive ass swap though…
Just curious… is this swap Cali smog legal?

iirc, any swap is “legal” as long as its not from a truck, not an older motor than the car its going into, and it retains all the factory emissions devices.
dont quote me on that as i live on the opposite side of the country, but its a good place to start if youre really interested

Impressive numbers:up:
to answer your question, No, I don’t. Im sure there is plenty of info on it though
yo sil how bout that paint?
plus check out this bad boy i just ordered. no more cable to hydro conversion just straight hydro!
Nice piece, how much did you pay?
The car is still at the shop, not ready.
it was 185 shipped but i think they make them only when someone is actually going to buy it, it took like a week before they even had one to sell me. And it is actually DA specific(the one i ordered) there is a little difference in the other ones so you cant mix and match for different chassis is what i was told.
Yeah rbc and a koyo rad for a dc5, its a real tight fight. Working on the intake side of the motor is a pain. If you absolutely want to go with a full size then a custom one that fits under the rad support is deff the way to go.
I got one of those suja kits…sucks big time. Did you get yours yet?
yeah i got it whats wrong with it ? any ways to improve it before i get it on ?
how does t not funtion are you going to back hydro/cable?
The bracket is not welded at the right angle so you have to shim the MC to get the piston at the correct angle for the pedal to transfer motion properly.
The MC needs to be mounted upside down unless you want to cut the cowl to pass the line.
Not using the HVAC but i doubt very much that you would be able to retain your left hand vent and window defrost.
It mounts the MC so impossibly high that there arent very many places to mount the reservoir.
I still think its a better solution than the other options out there but it is flawed nonetheless.
I am dissapointed and waiting for this setup to crap out on me…whenever it does for whatever reason it does im replacing the stock pedal assembly with a willwood or tilton pedal box. That is the real solution imo.
after realizing that the factory early model miata pedals can be easily bent and misshapen with your foot and some vigorous braking efforts, we quickly replaced the clutch and brake pedals with the Tilton setup and immediately noticed the pedal slop we had prior had went away, under-braking tire feedback was WAY better than before, AND you could actually feel the clutch engaging/disengaging through the pedal, and very prominently i may add too.
plus, the pedal box looks great next to the drive-by-wire pedal for the LS3 that powers the car.
anyway, +1 for the Tilton box.
Must be awsome. No flimsy firewall/pedal assembly flexing. Plus the 3 pedal could be mounted far back and lower for a better driving position.
