ive “heard” a little bit about left foot braking for autox. i guess its using the left foot to hit brakes while keeping the right foot on the gas. but how do you apply this technique?? why?? thanx. im not going to try it because i cant drive w/ one foot yet?? trying to learn something

LOL. its still a real technique Duy. left foot braking to make the rear end come around. and man heel and toe shifting is bad enough.

umm which episode do they talk about left foot braking? its all been heel and toe in that series. ( i do know which episode, i’m just testing u :wink: )

I know its a real tecnique, I’ve seen the touring car drivers do it and have tried it myself.

Mostly for vehicles with a high-lag turbo system. Keeping your foot on the gas keeps the turbo spooling, thus less lag time on acceleration.

One guy at autocross drives a 4th gen civic hatch and uses left foot braking. He’s definitely the best fwd driver at the events. That car rotates like nobody’s business!

Before trying it at an autox event, I suggest you get the hang of braking with your left foot first. It’ll take a while to get used to it and I know you won’t get it right the first time around. :smiley: It does help, but you just have to open the throttle more when you tap on the brake pedal with your left foot. Good luck and don’t kill yourself trying it. :smiley:

My friend had one of those. We called it the boxcar coz…it’s a friggin box on wheels. Ugly little car.

But yes that thing will spin like a bitch!
