Legend Brake Upgrade

Yeah the shaving will be trial and error so no need for exact measurements but yeah somewhere around 1/8". Yes you need legend pads. The lines shouldn’t be a problem, just don’t kink the bitches. And make sure your 15’s (or above) have good clearance.

So the prelude pads will work with my legend calipers? Awesome.

I plan on buying another set of front knuckles so I do the grinding and all that,
w/no downtime. As my integra is my daily driver the same may go for others.

I read in this tread about which way to mount the calipers, but Im too lazy to search… So, does the larger of the two pistons go on top or bottom?

Sorry I meant Legend pads. The pad has to fit in the caliper. I would assume the higher piston would go on top but there’s only one way you can put it in as far as I know.

anyone have a picture of where you need to shave on the bracket?

4sd4dr, i would have answered sooner but i was slaughtering the Ontario walleye population this past week.

the calipers are “supposed” to be mounted with the bleed valve down, as that is the correct way for the pistons to be. as far as i know, a few folks here have installed them with the bleeder valve pointing upward (like the valve should be) and have had zero issues with pad wear.

I was planning on mounting mine the (allegedly) “proper” way for piston position, but after discussing it with dan (g2guru) i have no qualms about installing the easier way.

Im not sure when Ill get around to getting em installed, but for now my questions are answered. Im sure more will come up later! Thanks.

For those interested, i’ll have 9 adapters for the ABS master cylinder into non-abs cars available this evening. they came in today and will need an ever-so-slight tweaking before being 100% ready for our cars, so i’ll do that myself before i post 'em up for sale.

Price will be announced in my for sale thread this evening, but they’ll be extremely affordable, i promise.

Ferret, i just got my calipers in but the fucking idiots sent me the right side single piston and the left side dual piston, so i ordered the right one today. once they get here, ill be conacting you about the rotors.

sorry couldn’t help it.

that’s funny though.

yea i laughed when i opened the bo. what kind of an idiot can do that?

yea i laughed when i opened the box. what kind of an idiot can do that?

anyone have any new news with bleeding abs.

ps my calipers and rotors are rusty as shit! i’m startin to polish my rims so i’ll post some pictures of how flippin dirtay they are.

check me out! i got the rustiest calipers in the world! :wtf:

but at least i cleaned up my wheels! semi-polisehd =)

new tires to be put on later this week! so excited!

ps my brakes are doin really well, but need some carbotechs…

you should see my calipers, youre lucky you have only that.

why do they look so toilet?

because they’re bare cast iron, that’s why.

the slightest bit of humidity will cause surface rustage.

that’s why i’m gonna be hitting mine with a coat of Norrell’s Molyresin. It’s actually for refinishing firearms, which i do fairly frequently. but i have it, it’s great for higher-temperature applications, and it’s very easy to apply.

I’d like to see them after you apply that stuff on. Be sure to post some pics.

does anyone have any pictures of actual grinding down the bracket? im not sure how far down you have to go… im looking down at the backside of the rotor and its nowhere close that part or the caliper bracket, am i odd?

I’m in the process of painting the rotor hats and calipers, so i figured why not take my washers out (which work great for space wise, but create a little wobble around 60 or so that sometimes gets smoothed out) and try grinding down a little bit. Grinded some down, but it looks / sounds /feels like the rotor is grinding in the corner of the caliper, do you ahve to grind that far down? any NOOB help would be appreciatiated…i’ll trade you for some shots of my rotors and calipers .
