Legend Brake Upgrade

Only the Legend GS 4DR and the NSX, the legend calipers being the larger than the NSX

ok thanx for info i will just read from here thanx and i got to get the calipers from a junkyard huh

You can get remans from your local autostore, I found them for like $45ea with core – I’ve got some accord calipers i can trade in

well, they are if you count the entire axle. :giggle:

ok i will just read from here…

Any recommended size for a drill bit to redrill the holes on the rotor? Thanks

same size as the lug holes already in it?

Ya, That’s one way. But I was hoping for a size.

I would rather get a machine shop to do it to make sure it is accurate, but I’m pretty anal

I really don’t have any machine shops in my area that will do this. So I have to do it myself.

well, if one inch = 25.4 millimeters, and the lugs are 12mm threads…

see where i’m goin with this?

Yep, That will work. Thanks

just did my swap. prelude vtec rotors and legend 2 piston calipers. wasn’t too bad brakes work great.

post pics?

im still running the washers. someone stop being lazy and take some pictures of where yo ugrounded down, because what i did obviously didnt work

back from the dead…

anyone knows if the ITR Calipers and Legend Single Piston Calipers are the same?

I’m selling my nsx calipers. http://www.g2ic.com/forums/showthread.php?t=157985

If you want to just bolt these on without any grinding. Order the 2 piece rotors from fastbrakes.com. Tell him what your doing and he will put the right rotor/hat combo togeter so you just bolt everything on. The rotors are $400 from him. This is what I was going to do.

quick question. I just read all twelve pages of this thread. Someone (one or two pages back, and I am to lazy to go look after reading all of this) said that you don’t have to grind the Legend caliper at all if you use prelude rotors and prelude caliper-mounting-brackets (I think thats what they are called, correct me if I’m wrong). Which would lead to essentially a direct swap with basically no modification. Is that right? because that seems like a MUCH easier solution to grinding.

tia

you dont grind the caliper.

You grind the caliper bracket. With either the legend or or ITR caliper brackets, they need to be grinded to fit the rotors.

okay, so the caliper itself is fine, its the braket that needs to be ground down. not sure where I messed that one up… lol So I looked around again, and I am just gonna get the prelude rotors since they have the right hub size, and then grind a bit off the ‘caliper brakets’ and I should be good to go.

okay, so I finally got the parts back from the machine shop. Today I painted the rotors and brackets, the calipers had already been painted (few days ago). I did the rotor hubs in black to go with the black rims I’m gonna be getting (besides I don’t want attention drawn to THEM) and blue for the calipers/brackets. I’m doing this whole white and blue thing since my interior is blue and the exterior is white. I think its cool. lol (the blue isn’t that bright, the flash just makes it look that way)
