i actually ordered the same one BQ43 i believe

22 page thread… it doesnt take that long to find it.

Alright one more question. Im getting the 94-95 Legend GS calipers with brackets from a local parts store and was wondering if it matters what brackets it comes with? Ive read else where that you need 23T brackets is this true? Thanxx.

once you go BBK you never go back. dont know how those 6piston calipers fit inside the 15" on gage 1 or 2

Picked up a set of legend dual piston calipers. Only thing is that the bracket is stamped 28t can i still use that bracket? Or do i have to get the 23t?

You’ll be fine with the 23T bracket. IIRC that’s what I’m using with the single piston caliper setup.

Alright. To the forum. This is where to get your dual piston calipers, and whatever else you need on the CHEAP! www.car-part.com, and just search the make/model. I bought my RSX-S rear calipers for about $70 shipped (could have gotten some cheaper ones, but I didn’t want to sacrifice quality). Also found my B20Z swap locally through the site for a great price. They have dual piston fronts on there for around $25 a side, then go and buy a seal kit from the dealer and replace the piston and dust seal (easy peezy). Wala! You have a rebuilt set of dual piston calipers for under a $80! You can grind down the inside of the caliper yourselves, doesn’t need to be exact, enough for the bracket to clear the caliper. Just trying to save y’all some monies…

Good shyt mrpenny. Ill try to find me some brackets near by. Thanxx
FYI for anyone swapping out the fronts,
Here’s a rear brake conversion to go from stock 9.4" to 10.3" rotors.
http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1090780

Basically it’s an EP3 rotor, caliper mount and pads. ITR rotors are the same size, but the EP3 is 4x100. This uses the stock DC calipers. It doesn’t mention that it works on a DA, but as far as I know, the rear brakes are pretty much the same.

Does anyone know if the EP3 front rotors are 11"? Might be an easy alternative to redrilling the ITR/Prelude rotors.

I’m going to try this out when I swap out my fronts.
dose any one know if you need to use the DC tailing arms or can you use the stock da arms?

search, its been discussed before.

Somebody near me needs to do this so I can test fit a wheel…

what year calipers am i looking for? i want to do this upgrade to my da and i work at autozone so i was just going to get all new parts just needed to know what year were the 2 piston calipers and then im going to order a set of slotted blanks and have drilled for our da’s
please let me know
thanks
justin

instead of redrilling brake discs why dont you just use the rotors from MG’s ZR 160 modell , they are 4x100, ventelated, 282mm wide and 25mm thick?

anything 15" should fit.

94-95 Legend GS. not sure if any years before or after will work, didn’t compare part numbers. you can use rotors from a 95 prelude VTEC and have them redrilled to 4x100.

for calipers, what manufacturer line do you deal with at autozone? i work at a similar type of store here in canada called Partsource. we deal with Fenco. look in to getting a semi loaded caliper it’ll come with the carriage bracket and all the hardware.

you can also get the dual piston calipers off a 93-95 Legend Coupe.

ok so if i change to the legend calipers and dont want the prelude rotors can I just stick to the oem teg rotors with the new legend calipers.

no, you won’t have nearly enough pad engagement.

factory caliper brackets are too small, and the brackets with the upgraded calipers locate the caliper too far out.

the whole point of the upgrade is to have bigger rotors with slightly larger calipers (although the main point being the relocation of the calipers to accommodate the larger rotors) to improve overall braking.

moving back to an original-diameter rotor pretty much negates that.

i know this thread seems to be DEAD…

but anyone still have the Legend Brake Upgrade on the tegs… would you post some pics…

is this mod only for the front or will it work for the rears also?

Why has this not been summarized and made into a Teg Tip yet?

There has to be a general GOOD way to do this right.
