Legend Brake Upgrade
Why has this not been summarized and made into a Teg Tip yet?

There has to be a general GOOD way to do this right.
I agree, Teg tip please

so anyone know if the legend upgrade is only for the front or can i do the rears also?

have you even read the whole thread? cause I know I personally posted about it early on.

the answer to that is most likely know Mr. Ferret. :read:

haha umm no i havent read all the pages… i thik i got to about page 3 and i stopped…

It was a rhetorical question; the fact you were asking was already proof you hadn’t.

Not reading threads and missing the points being made by those trying to help you seem to be your strong qualities. So best of luck with that, I don’t waste my time on those too clueless to pick up on the biggest of hints.

edit “no” lol but really there’s plenty of info and most questions are answered in the thread. It is good reading so u should read it.:read:
if they give you single-piston calipers, give them back and say “can you count to two, dipshit?”

i had to do that once. worked great.
Armed Ferret, I know I’m bringing back a comment posted years ago, but I just read this today, I’m not feeling good and it MADE ME LAUGH. You have no idea how funny this was to me.

Just thought your should know. :giggle:

okay I didn’t read this entire thread and I have no idea if this was already posted in here or anywhere else online for that matter.
if you do this conversion I have found that the easiest way to make it all work with out grinding the mounting brackets is to use vw corrado g60 rotors. the only issue you will have is you have to remove 1/16th of an inch from the inside diameter of the rotor’s mounting surface. The center hole on the rotor is a perfect match for our hubs so the rotor will be hubcentric once the ID is taken care of. I was able to remove the 1/16th with an angle grinder in my garage and the results are very good. I bought the rotors for $11 a piece brand new from rock auto and being that I like to do things on the cheaper end I opted to do the grinding myself. the only issue I can foresee anyone having is the rotor contacting your rim which in that case you will have to go the other route and what I just wrote is pointless to you.

btw I have searched everywhere for someone else who has done this and I can’t seem to find anything. I have heard people shoot the corrado rotor down before but I had to giveit a shot and I am happy with the results. I shall have pictures up in my build thread later.

Another thing I realized that was wrong in this thread is the switching the calipers from left to right to keep the proper piston configuration. That is wrong if you want to keep the propper piston configuration you leave the right side caliper on the right side. I am talking about the R and L stamps on the calipers themselves. To run the calipers with the bleeders in the proper location then you put the Right caliper on the driver side and the Left caliper on the passenger side. I just though I would clear that up.

Bump for epic awesomeness!!!

Really helpful! If not a Teg Tip, it needs to be!

bringing back an old thread. ive read through this whole thing a while back and just wanted to let people know that napa carries these dual calipers again! just picked up a set yesterday. thought i’d share if anyone was interested in picking up a pair.

This has been discussed a lot, but i just wanted to let everyone know how I did this. I’m not taking credit for figuring this out, just posting so everyone knows it works.

This is completely bolt on… no milling, or re drilling…

I found some dual piston calipers off a 93 legend and got the 23t brackets off a single piston caliper model legend. I purchased 2007 mini cooper rotors http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001O95PLA/ref=oh_o03_s01_i00_details , and 1993 NSX pads http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BZZEVE/ref=oh_o01_s00_i00_details… Everything just bolted on. The only modification needed was to bend the dust shield back a little to accommodate the larger brackets…

here are some pics.

Before… this is the stock brakes

After… These are 16" wheels, and as you can see there isn’t a lot of clearance

so what’s the verdict on the brake upgrade? details please

these feel strong, they stop really well…

I forgot to mention that the calipers and brackets I got at pick n pull… This was a super easy upgrade, the hardest part of the whole thing was bleeding the brakes. completely bolt on, just take off the old rotors and calipers then install the new stuff.

So do you think that these would work on 15s?

Edit: I read that ls meshies and fat fives work and I have fat fives so I should be good.

i don’t have any first hand experience with fitting 15’s on them, but i have heard that some fit and some don’t

just throwing it out there i have a set of legends dual piston caliper if anyone is interested new reman

mr aseqoeir26 what year and was it a 2 door or 4 legend that brakets came off call some bone yards they said they are not the same . thanks

if im not mistaken the gs model has the 25t bracket for the daul piston caliper and the 23t bracket was for the single piston for the bas models legend

everyone says that only the 4-door GS has the dual piston calipers, but I got mine off a 2-door. Every time I go to pick n pull i see a bunch of 2-doors with dual piston calipers.

The dual piston calipers come with 28t brackets and the single piston calipers come with 23t.

The 23t bracket is used on a lot of different cars
