Long build in process.

just wanted to bump in for a fresh build. perhaps I’ve missed it, but did you ever get this setup tuned?

Awesome build thread bro!

I haven’t gotten it tuned yet… simply haven’t had the money to get it on the dyno.

Checking the plugs is something I always do before I drive it to make sure things are burning ok, but a tune is a necessity once I get some spare funds. But in all reality I drive the car a few hundred miles a year, maybe… so its definitely not an untuned DD.

And thanks Bobbo! I try to keep it on the low simply because of the theft rate out here… hence no build thread on UH. Not that its anything spectacular, but you know where I’m coming from. But we definitely need to get together for a shoot. Drop that bish and let’s get it handled!

Go get that bish tuned so you CAN drive it everyday

It WILL happen this season. Going through a career change, so the car isn’t my priority at the moment. But it will happen, one way or another!

Car is looking great man! I really like how it came out after wetsanding. Hey look, thats what I’m doing to mine! Crud.

Best of luck with your career change man.

found your thread sean also got a pic for you too

Good looking out on the picture man… ninja skills!

It’s really not much of a ‘build’ but it works for me. Just need to get it over to Mr. Green this year and get it tuned.

Paint, rebuilt motor, RSR stainless, tons of care and work put into it (repainted a good looking job cause it wasn;t up to par) etc. Dudeman it’s a build, I love your car and if you get bored with her let me know I would buy it in a heartbeat and sell my RS.

Too kind…

Since I had to pay my storage fee for the month, I decided to take the teg out for a spin… along with a (borrowed) Canon Rebel XSi, w00t!

I made a few quick stops, with my main destination being a local canyon for some snaps.

First stop was the cemetery, since I was going there anyway. No real great photos taken here… I forgot to upload the only worth-while one.

As I was headed to the canyon, I spotted a newly developed parking garage… score!

And my favorite…

On to the canyon, right? Well… Kinda…

I was on a road that intersects with the highway, approaching the stop-sign… a VW Jetta passes me, and I faintly hear a metal sound, like if you drop a quarter on the ground. I think to myself “Man that VW sounded like trash…” No sooner than I think that, I wiggle the shift knob to ensure its in Neutral… MASSIVE slop in the shifter. WTF?? Long story short, the bolt that secures the stabilizer linkage fell out… so one washer and one half of my BuddyClub bushing fell on the ground.

After scouring the highway, I found the washer and bushing… the bolt wasn’t found. With the car in Neutral, and no stabilizer bar, shifting is impossible.

I quickly scanned the engine bay for any short-term replacement… A seat-mount bolt fit perfectly! After. A. Few header-burns and cuss words, I was back in action!

Needless to say, I wasn’t in the mood for a canyon shoot after that, but maybe in the coming weeks I’ll regain the motivation.

Hope everyone had a good holiday weekend!

No real updates… Just took this pic, washing it for the last time of the season… It is now parked and under the car cover

Gorgeous shots man! Waaaay late but thats pretty coool how you got going again with your seat bolt. Header burns sucks, still have scars from trying to find my oil leak with engine on…

Thanks for sharing more shots with my favorite teg on here. After seeing this I have come to the conclusion this will be my next teg as soon as you get bored with it. hahahahahaha

Make me an offer I can’t refuse, and it’s yours! lol

Sadly I really am not that crazy for it anymore… Bah!

For reals? If you ever want to sell it send me an email. I might be willing to part out my failed gsr project for this hehe. It would be loved, cherished and not daily driven. Though to be honest you should keep it

what is bringing your lack of satisfaction with this?
looks great to me, btw :burnout:

Just bored I guess.

It doesn’t have that “special” place in my mind/heart anymore… Sometimes I look at it and see it for what it is, a twenty year old car.

Thanks for the kind words though fellas

try taking a break from it for awhile. i know when i had mine, when i would park it for the winter, come spring time, it was like a new car. just a thought

He has. After winters like these he posts up how happy he should be seeing the car yet something is amiss. But as always he takes proper loving care of her, stored in a car cover in a dry spot for winter, meticulous detailing etc. Honestly the condition shows love. But after nearly 2 years of these posts if it isn’t going away…

To be honest Unified I feel the same about my gsr but I still have a spot for these 20 year old cars. Email me cyoungiv at gmail if you decide to move away to something else, though I hope it never comes! Send your facebook as well lol!

But after going through a few pages of this it just blows my mind how nice this car is.

we all go through that stage i suppose. i have but glad i kept on to it. it’s storage time now and can’t wait until next year.
