The trunk is badass! Love the color too.
Looks great rob, hopefully i’ll get to see it this summer!
I would like to get it running by July and on the road by september but who knows.
When is that again? I’m not sure how long the painter will take and i told him to take his time so it will all rest on his shoulders.
The wife and i had some fun taking apart the glass in the power folding mirrors last night.
The glass is so much thicker in the us version vs. the japanese version.
this means the bezels are smaller in the JDM housings. the nipples will need to be cut/sanded down to make room for the usdm mirrors
Will be cutting these down tonight at my storage unit. Ill let you know how it turns out.
Good, now I know what to expect when I switch the mirror portion of the full mirror when my car goes out for paint.
car is still in idle waiting for the paint guy to go over the car again but I did pick up some things to pre occupy myself in the meantime.
I picked up another 4 door to daily for a bit. this car is an auto but im going to convert it before I start driving it. I have most of the parts for the conversion right now, just waiting on a new mainshaft bearing for the transmission then I will be tearing the car apart.
Something else cool that happened was my pops found my old horizon gray car and picked it up off the current owner, giving it to me for xmas. She needs some work but overall not in horrible shape.
Im already working on getting another motor and tranny for this car this weekend. Currently the car has a b20 in it with a hydro gsr tranny and a cable to hydro conversion but im not a fan of it so I am going to look at a ls/vtec Saturday with a cable tranny attached to it. hopefully this car will be back on the road by the end of the month.
Nice collection of G2s you’re getting there! Any updates on the db1?
This car was very nice. The wheels go well with the car.

Got carbon 1-5 syncros and an ls 5th gear. I want to rebuild the gsr ys1 I have for it in the up coming weeks. I’ll have pics of that soon. Other than that I haven’t wanted to do much with it till it goes back to and comes back from paint again.
The rotas will be getting sold off the da soon so I can put some proper wheels back on it.
Nice! You’re doing the transmission rebuild yourself? I’ve been kicking around the idea of doing the same and adding LSD to my gsr transmission before it goes back in. I’ve never even opened up a transmission before though so I’m a bit daunted by the idea of trying to create a hybrid transmission my first time in one.
Be sure to take lots of pictures, or even a step by step if you feel really motivated!
I feel more comfortable messing with the guts of a tranny vs a motor. With what I’m doing (and what you want to do) it’s honestly pretty straight forward. I have a quaife LSD I’m putting in too and I was planning on doing a write up of the process for others. I’m not the greatest at write ups but ill do my best to be as detailed as possible.
got a new motor and tranny for the DA (ls/vtec with cable ls trans instead of the hydro trans and b20)
Got the car running last night. Just have to button up a few things then my long time friend Carl (DAmn-Ryte on here) is going to buy the car off me and daily it. I didn’t want to have to put the time the car needs to get it back to where I had it before however my friend was with me every step of the way while building the car before and knows the car inside and out as well as I do. It will be going to a real good home.
I sold the b20 and gsr tranny for the same price I got the ls/vtec and cable tranny for so I didn’t come out of pocket at all for the swap.
Here are a few more pictures of the soon-to-be-daily patiently waiting its turn outside the door. Just sitting tight, waiting for its overhaul before I start driving this while I get back on track with my project db1.

Get to it! I keep waiting for updates on this build
How did you get the mirror glass off? I’ve pulled mirrors apart before but never saw an easy way to actually remove the glass from the housing.
Heat gun (or blow dryer, looking at the pictures) and a bit of patience… Can’t be much worse than a set of one pieces. At least I’d hope not.
Easier than one pieces. My wife has no patience for anything and even she was able to sit there with the blow dryer long enough to pry them out. Lol
You are still doing your thing!
Actually picking up Lester’s old DA today…he is finally getting rid of it. Need to keep miles off my 2013 TSX.
Holy crap, Levi?! Never took you for a DA guy at all. Didn’t Lester drive the white one? I tried getting him out once or twice to meet but we couldn’t get anything nailed down. I’ve actually never met the guy.
I honestly didn’t think you remembered me. lol yeah, I cant afford to play with nicer cars so I stayed where I was familiar. Great group of guys on these boards. Very knowledgeable. If you need any parts or assistance with his car my shop (in the pictures) is actually about 10 minutes or so from your place.
I don’t even think I was able to figure out how to get that piece off which the mirror is glued to… This was ages ago though so I don’t remember fully.
